About Tour Guide Horváth Á.
Szia! I’m a 37-year-old licensed, professional tour guide, born and raised in Budapest. I absolutely live and breathe this city. Having lived in 5 different countries across Europe and Asia, I know exactly what it feels like to arrive in a new place wanting to soak up the culture, history, and gastronomy. I treat my guests the way I want to be treated when I travel: with warmth, flexibility, and deep local insight.
What Makes My Tours Special?
With a professional background in journalism, media, and education, I bring stories to life. I can cover everything from intricate architecture and political history to contemporary local life.
I used to work as a gastronomy journalist. So if you are a foodie, you are in excellent hands! As a vegan and a specialty coffee aficionado, I also know the absolute best hidden bars, plant-based spots, and coffee gems in town.
I am a Budapest local & expert, but I also partially grew up in Szentendre—a stunning, Mediterranean-style artists' town in the Danube Bend. If you want to explore its cobblestone streets, I am a true local there as well!
Tailoring itineraries to your specific pace and curiosity is my specialty. Whether you want an in-depth historical overview or a relaxed morning walk with great coffee stops, the day is entirely yours.
Even after years of guiding daily, I am still incredibly passionate about meeting people from all over the world. By the end of our walk, you won't just leave with local tips—you'll leave with a local friend in Budapest.
If you want to explore the city with a friendly, highly experienced, licensed guide who blends professionalism with a relaxed, authentic local vibe, let’s design your perfect experience together!

“Agnes is a dream guide for Budapest!”
The morning after our arrival in Budapest from Australia we met Agnes for a private guided tour of Budapest highlights. Agnes had already discussed with us our interests and preferences on advance of the tour and offered us a number of different flexible options for what we could comfortably achieve in 3 hours. We learned a great deal about the history of Hungary from the early years of the seven different tribes right through to the Soviet withdrawal in 1989. We visited the Opera House, St Stephens Basilica, the controversial Liberty Square monuments, Parliament House and the Shoe Memorial learning so much history and cultural information along the way.Agnes also gave us tips and information on other areas of interest so we could plan our remaining 3 days. Agnes is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and generous and the perfect tour guide. She enjoys good coffee so took us to a fantastic cafe halfway through the tour for a break which we have already visited again. We would highly recommend Agnes as a tour guide in Budapest to all our friends. Her English is excellent and she speaks other languages too. Five Stars! Louise

I invite you to a unique culinary journey in the capital city of Hungary. We may not have a world-famous cuisine like the Italians or the French, but once you taste a Hungarian meal it will stay with you forever. This tour is designed for those with an interest in history and some city highlights coupled with some of the most unforgettable snacks and bites of Hungary: langos, chimney cake, fried sausage, stuffed pancakes, pogacsa (scones) and a shot of palinka/Unicum, just to name a few.
