Bidar is the northern most district of Karnataka in India. .Bidar is situated almost in the center of Geographical 'Deccan' and the eastern boarder of the historical Deccan. it was the meeting place of several shades of culture from the very beginning. Gulburga is first Capital city of Bahamanis and 1429 it was shifted to Bidar. The historical monuments and sites in around the Bidar the Fort, Rangeen Mahal, Madarasa, Sola Kamba Mosque, Bahmani kings Tombs and chaukhandi a Sufi saint tomb etc.

Bidar
Proceeding to the Bidar (150 kms), arrival at 10:30 AM.
Visit the Magnificent Fort : Bahmani kingdom shifted their capital from Gulburga to Bidar in 1432.the main citadel complx housed the royal palaces, Mahalsa and Mosque, Gumbaz Darwaz Fathe Darwaza(gates), Takht Mahal ( throne palace)Tarkash Mahal (tarkesh wifes f the king's) Rangeen Mahal: this palace is unique because of its decortion which coloured tiles and other art work like wood carving done hee is not only precious but also unique. the walls of Mahal are adorned with mother-of -Pears of the finest quality of the finest quality inlaid in-jet black stone. There was a five gateways for entry in to the city. It is the main citadel complex for which is more strong. It is built on he brink of plateau.
Madarasa - Mahmud Gawan
The Madarasa at Bidar founded by Mahmud Gawan built like a residential university built in 1472. the Madarasa was a three storied building housing a Mosque, a library, lecture halls, processors quarters, student cubicles facing open courtyard. The students were tough Arabic, Persian languages ,theology, philosophy, astronomy and mathematics.
Astur-Bahamani Tombs & Choukhandi ( a sufi saint tomb)
The Bahmani Sultans were fond of constructing huge sepulcher. several majestic Mausoleums of their period are at Ashtoor, 4 kms frin the Bidar fort. thereare total 12 tombs at a place in row which together give a very impressive look. they are huge structures with beautifully arches, niches and lofty domes.
Chaukhandi: it is the tomb of Khilil -Ullah who was the preceptor of Ahmed shah Bahmani king . It is erected on the elevated place. tahe building is octagonal in plan. there are traces of fine decorated on the walls of the building.
