Asia/Jakarta (UTC +7hs)
Seeing Kelimutu in all its splendor from the highest view point is like a typical postcard picture. Gerard will explain to you all about Kelimutu with its three craters filled with water of different colors: when did this volcano erupt for the first and last time, who discovered it, what the volcanologists say, the beliefs of the local people and their attachment to Kelimutu, and why they chose Kelimutu as the final resting place after death. If the weather is sunny you can enjoy a very beautiful sunrise view from the eastern horizon of Flores Island.
This is also the reason why we should be at the top at 06:00 am. At times when there are not many visitors, you can also see monkeys coming to the top looking for biscuits, peanuts or food debris that has been dropped by visitors.
You can also see locals from the villages around the lake selling hot coffee and tea, biscuits, peanuts and other snacks, as well as beautiful native woven fabrics--if you're interested, Gerard, your local guide can help facilitate you to buy it.
Exploring the Three Colored Crater Lakes of Kelimutu up close and personal: starting from the edge of the lake of the final resting place of the Elders Spirits which is located alone in the west of the peak of Kelimutu, then we walk down to the lake of the Spirits of the Evil One and the lake of the Spirits of Youth which are located side by side only bordered by a very thin wall, while your local guide Gerard explain the name of the lake and its meaning in the local dialect, the size and depth of the lake, why the color of the lake water often changes, what and how is Kelimutu according to volcanologists and what has happened to the natural wonders of Kelimutu and its relationship to people's lives around. You can also ask as many questions as you want about Kelimutu, and Gerard, your local guide will answer everything to the best of his knowledge.

“My experience with Go with Guide did not go well. I would like a refund.”
I was on vacation in Indonesia and not able to keep my original zoom appointment at my hotel as my diving boat schedule was changed. I emailed Gerard the day before when I found out but he was on a 5 day tour on the other side of the island and could not get his email. He was not happy with me as he had to leave his tour to do the zoom which I had asked to reschedule. It just didn't work out.

(1 reviews)Dear Julie, Thank you for your review, even though you did not experience the Flores-Indonesia Tribal Hand Woven Fabrics online tour. Not even a Zoom meeting, no direct communication via email or telephone. Even though your review is excellent with five stars, but I am sorry, that does not make me happy in the slightest. You know why, I feel wronged by your non-committal attitude. I have to waste extra time to make a 5 day overland tour package, also have to leave my guests who were trekking in the interior for 2 days and have to pay a village guide to accompany them because I have to return to Maumere for a Zoom meeting with you. I was really disappointed. I had gone back and forth to the village walking up and down the mountain for almost 8 hours hoping to have a discussion and then face to face tour with you, but the result was in vain. Without any further response, suddenly you give me a five-star review and ask for a refund. And you also did not say cancel beforehand. Therefore, with all due respect and regret, I must convey that I will not refund you. Even if it counts I still lose, but never mind... I am sorry! Thank you. Warm regards, Gerard
