Square "Piazza Flavio Gioia"
- Piazza Flavio Gioia, also known as "La Rotonda" is a little square in Salerno city center, very easy to find. I'll be waiting for you right in the middle of the square, where the dolphin fountain is.
Saint Matthew Cathedral
The cathedral was built between 1080 and 1085 during the Middle Ages, very well preserved and full of things to see. You will discover various particularities of this church, which I’m sure will surprise you a lot.
Baroque crypt
Visiting the colored crypt, full of frescos and beautiful polychrome marble, where are the relics of Saint Matthew.
Local crafts and traditions
We will discover the handmade products of Salerno and the typical symbol of the Campania region, with interesting information on local culture.
Medieval monumental complex
An ancient bell tower from the Middle Ages, next to a beautiful palace with remains of medieval times. Here we can also visit ancient Roman thermal baths with unique frescoes of Byzantine influence.
Square in the old town and colored neighborhood
After the square with a beautiful fountain and historical building, we'll visit a neighborhood dedicated to poet Alfonso Gatto, born in Salerno in 1909 and famous in Italian Literature for his poems.
Park in Salerno's modern part
Gardens full of Mediterranean and Exotic plants where there are corners for taking photos, benches for resting, and toilets to use.
