Scenic drive to Ocho Rios
As you journey from Montego Bay to the Blue Hole in Ocho Rios, you’ll pass several of Jamaica’s most scenic and historic landmarks along the island’s northern coastline. Shortly after leaving Montego Bay, you’ll see the iconic Rose Hall Great House, followed by the Greenwood Great House with its colonial charm. We’ll pass through the historic town of Falmouth, known for its Georgian architecture and the nearby Martha Brae River, famous for bamboo rafting. Continuing along the coast, you’ll pass through Duncans and Rio Bueno where we'll stop for photos against the backdrop of the Carribean Sea, then enter Discovery Bay—said to be the landing site of Christopher Columbus. Further along is Runaway Bay, rich in history and home to nearby attractions like the Green Grotto Caves which we will pass. Just before reaching Ocho Rios, you’ll drive through St. Ann’s Bay, a town tied to Jamaican national hero Marcus Garvey. Fern Gully offers a lush, tropical experience through the former riverbed-turned-rainforest road, but it also provides a natural transition into the town center where most shopping takes place. Next a 15 min stop at the Shaw Park before arriving at the Blue Hole.
Blue Hole
Upon arriving at the Blue Hole, guests are warmly welcomed by experienced local guides who provide a brief history of the site, sharing insights into its natural formation, cultural significance, and its rise as one of Jamaica’s most beloved hidden gems. Guides also give important safety instructions and explain the activities available, ensuring guests are fully prepared for their adventure ahead. Surrounded by the untouched beauty of the tropical rainforest, guests then embark on a guided exploration of the area—featuring cascading waterfalls, emerald-blue plunge pools, and lush jungle trails. Adventurous visitors can swing into the cool waters on a rope, leap from cliff edges into deep natural pools, or climb along the falls with the help of their guide. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, there are serene spots to wade, float, and soak in the peaceful surroundings. The entire experience blends thrill and tranquility, making it a perfect escape for both adrenaline seekers and nature lovers alike.
