Suwon Hwaseong Fortress
Suwon Hwaseong Fortress is a UNESCO World Heritage site designated in 1997 due to its outstanding universal value. It was built in the late 18th century by King Jeongjo to honor the tomb of his father, the ill-fated Crown Prince Sado, reflecting the king’s deep filial piety. The fortress showcases advanced military architecture and a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation of the Joseon Dynasty.
It is also a filming location for Korean dramas: 'Love in the Moonlight' (2016), 'Itaewon Class' (2020), 'Our Beloved Summer' (2021-2022), 'Twenty Five Twenty One' (2022), 'Lovely Runner' (2024), and 'Love Scout.' (2025)
Hwaseong Haenggung Palace
Located inside Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, Hwaseong Haenggung Palace was a temporary palace used by kings during visits outside the capital. It was often used by King Jeongjo when he visited his father's tomb. This palace showcases elegant Joseon-era architecture and offers a glimpse into royal life. It is a filming location for the famous Korean drama 'Jewel in the Palace.' (2003~2004)

A recreated town featuring both aristocratic and commoners' houses from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). You can enjoy cultural programs, captivating folk performances, and interactive experiences such as traditional crafts and games.
Starfield Library Suwon
The open-concept library features towering bookshelves, stylish architecture, and a peaceful reading space. Recently opened in 2024, this multi-story library (floors 4–7) boasts soaring 22-meter-tall shelves and about 60,000 books. It is the tallest library in Korea, higher and bigger than the COEX Starfield Library in Seoul.
