Donghwasa temple

The Donghwasa Temple located in Palgong Mtn. has 1,500 years of history with numerous treasures and cultural assets, including the world's largest stone Buddha, the Yaksa Buddha.

It has been designated as one of the top 10 tourist attractions in East Asia and is a representative shrine of the East, visited by millions of Koreans and foreigners throughout the year.

Seomun Traditional Market

Seomun traditional market, one of the biggest market in Korea during Joseon dynasty and has almost 500 years history. Its scale is huge, you can find almost everything like food, clothes, produce, shoes, furniture, kitchenware etc. Street food is also famous such as Kalguksu(noodle), barley rice, pork soup, as well as flat dumplings, Hotteok(Korean pancake), fried chiken, Tteokbokki etc.

Apsan Cable car to the Observatory

Apsan Mtn. Park is a representative urban nature park in Daegu city. You can take the cable car to the observatory and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of Daegu city. On the top of the mountain, a cute moon rabbit sculpture welcomes you and people take picture with it.

Daegu Modern Alley

Daegu Modern Alley is an alley located in Jung-gu, Daegu Metropolitan City. It preserves the appearance of Daegu from the late 19th century to the early 20th century, and there are five alley tourism courses. It was selected as one of the top 100 Korean tours.

Nakdong River War Memorial Museum

Nakdong River War Memorial commemorates the fierce battles fought along the Nakdong River during the Korean War and honors the soldiers who fought to defend South Korea.

Daegu Yangnyeongsi Oriental Medicine Museum

The Daegu Yangnyeongsi Oriental Medicine Museum is located in the heart of Daegu’s historic herbal medicine district, known as Yangnyeongsi, one of Korea’s oldest traditional herbal medicine markets.

Dating back to around 1658, during the Joseon Dynasty, Yangnyeongsi has played an important role in the distribution of traditional herbal medicines in Korea and abroad.

Inside the museum, you can learn about the long history of Korean traditional medicine and see a variety of medicinal herbs, traditional medical tools, acupuncture needles, and old medical books. The museum also recreates what an herbal medicine street looked like about 100 years ago, giving visitors a glimpse into the daily life and trade of the past.

“Brilliant assistance in many ways”

I and two others were attending a World Athletics competition in Daegu. Over a period of three days, Peter was able to meet any request we came up with - to visit stadia, to find a place to shop, restaurants to eat, to explore a half-marathon course. Peter is affable, enjoyable to spend time with, resourceful, never fatigued, and was the perfect companion. Without his driving, together with deep knowledge of the city, we would never have achieved what we did. And, thanks for him, we still found time for some sightseeing, including a cable car ride for a high view of the city and surrounding mountains. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have encountered him.
