Rabat is the administrative and cultural capital of Morocco. It was settled by the Phoenicians and Romans, and at that time it was known as Sala Colonia. From the 12th century, the Moroccan Almohad dynasty shoes to build their capital on the same area, first by securing a large space for the future capital, a city with large walls and towers, and building a beautiful mosque named Hassan, also they renovated the Kasbah of the Udayas.

King Mohammed V mausoleum
The mausoleum belongs to King Mohammed V, who is considered the spiritual father of Moroccan independence. He died in 1961, and the mausoleum was ready in 1971.

Hassan Tower
The Hassan Tower was part of the unfinished mosque project initiated by Sultan Yaqub Mansur, and is the twin of the Koutoubia Towers in Marrakesh and the Giralda in Seville (Spain), all built in the same Almohad dynasty (1121/1269).
The old city
Rabat was built in the 12th century by the Almohad dynasty, and expanded by the Marinid dynasty in the 14th century.
It still maintains its Moroccan-Andalusian architectural and cultural harmony. With its streets, houses, gardens, fountains and markets.
The Kasbah of the Udayas
The actual Kasbat was built by the Almohad dynasty on 1150, and extended in the 18 century with a fort equipped with cannons, royal residence and andalou garden by the actual Alaouite dynasty.
