As a tourist guide in Portugal, I am part of a passionate and diverse community of professionals dedicated to unveiling the secrets and charms of our country to visitors from around the world. Like my fellow guides, I have the privilege of sharing the richness of our culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes with those who seek to explore all that Portugal has to offer.
As guides, we are much more than mere storytellers or holders of historical facts. We become living ambassadors of Portuguese hospitality, warmly welcoming every traveler who crosses our path and providing memorable experiences that go beyond conventional tourist itineraries.
Together, we represent a wide range of specialties and interests, each bringing our own unique perspective to enrich our visitors' experiences. Whether revealing the secrets of Lisbon's narrow streets, guiding through the vineyards of the Douro, or exploring the medieval castles of the Alentejo, we are committed to showcasing the best that Portugal has to offer in an authentic and captivating way.
Furthermore, as tourist guides, we are committed to sustainability and the preservation of our cultural and natural heritage. We work closely with local communities to ensure that tourism positively benefits the regions we visit and that we leave a positive and lasting impact on each destination.
In summary, as tourist guides in Portugal, we have the honor and pleasure of sharing our passion for our country with the world. Together, we are the guardians of hidden treasures, the passionate storytellers, and the dedicated travel companions who ensure that every visit to Portugal is truly unforgettable.
Joao M.
My name is João, a native son of Porto.
I've been a certified Tourism Animator for the last 5 years, a Gentleman Rider for a few decades now and most importantly, in love with my city, her stories and importance in the World history.
After a successfull, but not very fullfilling, career in management and mechatronics engineering, I decided to create experiences that would allow me to work on and share my passions: my classic motorcycles, the love of my city, history and storytelling ( yes, I talk a bit!)
That combination came together naturally to create my tour experiences that use the old neighborhoods, landmarks, viewpoints and facades to tell you the history and stories of Porto. ( It also allows me to start tours with guests and end with friends. )
My tours focus on: Porto history, local stories, local perspective, landmarks, vistas & viewpoints, photography, Port wine tasting.
After being a tourism guide for 5 years I realize that meeting new people and seeing them fall in love with Porto is what I really love to do. I hope to meet in Porto soon!
Disclaimer: I'm also a part of secret world conspiracy to make people fall in love with Porto. . . you've been warned :)
I will be your private guide. Welcome to Porto!

My tours are focused on Architecture, Art and History, but the charm of Porto goes beyond that: traditions, legends, secrets, food...
My main purpose is to show you what really makes us different and unique.
(sometimes I'm the traveler, taking pictures of my favorite spots - you check the gallery :-)
I'm available and pleased to create the best plan for you, according to your preferences.

Ricardo M.
My name is Ricardo and I was born and raised in Porto City.
Although tourism changed Porto for the best (in my opinion) for the last 5 years, me and my family had to move out from Porto, into the bush, housing and living costs became very high and we made the choice that we should move out to the countryside.
In this last year 2020 and even this year 2021 with pandemic work just fell down drastically and we had to adapt. Making Port Wine, Muscat wine and sometimes olive oil in a amatuer way since 2014, this hobbie become my family income. With vineyards and olives fields almost abandoned from the pandemic I rolled up my sleeves and went to work, asking neighbours and friends if I could keep their grapes and olives for harvest time, their answers were immediately YES
Dividing my life between Porto and Douro Valley, me and my family feel completely safe, happy and relaxed with this new way of living your life.
Come and see my amazing town Porto and Douro Valley Wine Region from the eyes of a local !!!
Hope to see you soon.
Cheers !!!
Ricardo
