Olá! Hi! I’m Izzy! Thank you for stopping by! Hopefully Porto is next on your list! Originally from Lisbon, I moved to Porto in 1998 to study Biology. I even tried life in a research lab, but quickly realised that working with microscopes 24/7 meant missing something essential: people. And I’m definitely a people person. So I followed another passion - Fashion - which took me to Paris for a year to study Image, Communication and Protocol in Politics & Business. While working in this field, I was invited to organise and accompany private tours around Portugal. And just like that, I found my true calling! Although I divide my time between Porto and Lisbon, Porto is the city I chose as home (for more than half my life now). Its character, history, food, wine and beautifully complicated soul make it impossible not to fall in love. This is why my tours are not about memorised dates or scripted speeches. They are storytelling experiences: with a deep knowledge of Portuguese history and culture (and a family that lived on both sides of the dictatorship) I bring history to life through real stories, hidden layers, and the kind of insights you won’t find in guidebooks. My name is Ricardo and I was born and raised in Porto City. Although tourism changed Porto for the best (in my opinion) for the last 5 years, me and my family had to move out from Porto, into the bush, housing and living costs became very high and we made the choice that we should move out to the countryside. In this last year 2020 and even this year 2021 with pandemic work just fell down drastically and we had to adapt. Making Port Wine, Muscat wine and sometimes olive oil in a amatuer way since 2014, this hobbie become my family income. With vineyards and olives fields almost abandoned from the pandemic I rolled up my sleeves and went to work, asking neighbours and friends if I could keep their grapes and olives for harvest time, their answers were immediately YES Dividing my life between Porto and Douro Valley, me and my family feel completely safe, happy and relaxed with this new way of living your life. “Great Wine, stunning vistas, fantastic guide”
We spent an incredible, relaxing day with Pedro. Within 15 mins of meeting him it felt like we were lifelong friends. Our tour was very relaxed and laid back. He took us to two wonderful vineyards and out for lunch at a fantastic restaurant. Would highly recommend Pedro as a guide if you’re looking for easy conversation and a relaxed experience

“Wonderful and Memorable Visit to an Amazing City”

The time we spend discovering Porto was so wonderful and meeting both of you was such a big inspiration. Our day started by picking you up from the Cruise ship and head to Ribeira area, to enjoy the narrow old streets with colorful houses next to the river.
