Hi all travellers, nice to know you here and hope we can meet in Barcelona. My name is My (you can call me Mee). I am from Vietnam and I have been living in Barcelona for 5 years. Although I am not a Spanish/Catalan guide, I have a different view about Barcelona & Spain, being an Asian/Vietnamese girl who has been working and travelling all around Spain. Nowadays, there are a lot of Digital nomads who would like to combine working and travelling at the same time. I can say that I am one of them. I have experience in living abroad (Vietnam, Spain & Portugal) and going through all the process of relocation to Barcelona so that I can share with you if you are interested in moving to Barcelona. I used to do daytime cultural tours until the pandemic left us out in the cold for three years so I had to switch over and do something else in which now I run a food tent and a food truck, making delicious smash burgers and tacos. I also run a children's food bag program three days a week that we started about a year and a half ago. Being a native from Villefranche-sur-Mer, located between Nice and Monaco and facing the world-famous Cap Ferrat, I grew up in the heart of the French Riviera. I loved going to see the festivities of the Nice Carnaval in February like the Menton lemon festival, the Monaco palace with its guards and its Cousteau Oceanic museum, the luxury cars of Monte-Carlo were something special for me because my father was a professional sports car mechanic who participated in the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix for more than 10 years. We were also lucky in May to enjoy the Cannes Film Festival and meet film actors and actresses or French televisions celebrities walking on the Boulevard de La Croisette. Every time I mention my first job outside of Nice, outside of France, I always have the same answer full of surprises " how did you end up in Idaho...?" Well, back in Feb. 2002, during the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, I had the great opportunity to work for two years at the famous Sun Valley Ski Resort as a restaurant and banquet manager. I enjoyed every opportunity to visit most of the West Side and have fond memories of it because it was so different from my hometown French Riviera and also another exclusive, "rich and famous" place to experience.
