Japan
Camille L.

Koichi S.
Hello! My name is Koichi, a licensed guide in Niigata City. I am a retired bank manager. I had worked in the New York office for three years. During my stay in the U.S., I traveled a lot with my family and enjoyed the great nature, historical sites and nice local cuisines. This time, I want you to enjoy Japanese culture and cuisines including our wonderful rice and sake. It is my great pleasure to welcome you in my hometown! Niigata has been developed as a port city at the mouth of big river. The Niigata port has been active since the 17th century, the samurai era. So, we have a lot of sightseeing sites which represent the flourishment of the town in those days. You can enjoy a wealthy merchant’s house and garden, a landlord’s mansion or a model of wooden boat which sailed all over Japan at that time. Along with those historical sites, the people’s markets are very enjoyable. Farmers and fishermen sell their fresh products at the portable tents along the street. Please stroll the area and find some very local fish and veggies. I am waiting for your visit to Niigata!

Fukuyo K.
Hi, I’m Fukuyo—call me Francis! I’m originally from Kagoshima, but after spending time living in different places around Japan and abroad, I came back home three years ago. Over the years, I’ve been lucky to meet so many amazing people and learn about their history, culture, and traditions. One thing that’s really stayed with me is how important it is to connect with people—whether through chatting, sharing a meal, or simply exploring a place together—to truly understand it. Since moving back to Kagoshima, my connection to the culture and traditions here has only grown. I’m especially fascinated by Kagoshima’s beautiful traditional handicrafts. Now, I blend my deep love for this place with my belief that real connections are key to experiencing its heart. I offer tours that are authentic, fun, and all about connecting with the locals. My focus is on helping visitors learn about the local culture by interacting with the people here. I truly believe the best way to experience Kagoshima is through the people you meet, and I can’t wait to share this amazing place with you!

Mari Y.
Hello! I’m Mari. I’ve lived in Ube, Yamaguchi for 26 years and worked as an English teacher at a local middle school. I'm the proud grandmother of a 2-year-old girl and a 5-month-old boy. My hobbies are traveling, walking, and playing tennis. My love for travel was sparked by my homestay experiences in Scotland and California, USA. Living outside Japan taught me so much, but what I cherish most about my homestays was the 'weekend small trips'. I fondly recall the picturesque Highlands and a B&B in Scotland, where a kind elderly couple welcomed me warmly. During an overnight bus trip from California to Las Vegas, I was mesmerized by the breathtaking sunrise changing the sky brighter and brighter. Travel is special because of the small, soul-stirring moments. I love to travel and am happy to help others experience these wonderful moments too. Maintaining my mental and physical health is also a significant interest of mine. I’ve always liked playing tennis as this is a therapeutic sport for me and I can get so much stress As a morning person, my favorite routine taking a stroll in my neighborhood and giving a prayer at the local shrine sunny or rainy. I would love to show you around the relaxing local neighborhoods of Ube City!

Olá! Hi! My name is Izzy! Thank you for coming to my page and hopefully soon to Porto! Originally from Lisbon, I moved to Porto in 1998 to study Biology. Whilst doing an internship in Food Safety, I discovered that working 24/7 in a Research Laboratory wasn't for me. I lacked human contact - communicating with people is my passion! For this reason, I decided to follow another great passion of mine, Fashion, and for a year I lived in Paris, where I trained in Image, Communication and Protocol in Politics and Business. While working in these areas, I was invited to organise and accompany private tours in central and northern Portugal, thus discovering a new passion: Tourism and Hospitality. Although I spend my time between Porto and Lisbon, it was in Porto that I chose to live (for more than half my life now). The city, its people, its food and wine, its rich and diverse history and its world-renowned cultural treasures are truly unique. With a deep knowledge of Portuguese history, culture and traditions, I aim to provide truly immersive experiences. Mainly historical, my tours are also storytelling, bringing to life the main historical events of the places we visit (and some of their best-hidden secrets) with real and personal stories (with family on both sides of the dictatorship, I have no shortage of stories), in tailor-made experiences, often along unexpected routes, and where no topic is off limits (not even politics)! If what you value is going beyond superficial experiences and getting into the heart and soul of a place - only by understanding the local history, heritage diversity and culture can we add depth and meaning to a trip - then MY tours are YOUR tours! See you soon!
