Amazing Omakase Dinner and Sake Pairing

We had a wonderful evening with our gracious host, Toki. As a sake sommelier her attention to detail and knowledge is impeccable. In addition to educating us about sake, including the history, process of making, type of sakes, various glassware, etc; she collaborated with the chef for each dish and the pairing of the sake. It was amazing! For an unforgettable evening, it is definitely a must do in Tokyo. Thank you Toki, we enjoyed meeting you. Would love to see you should you make a trip to California.

Carla san, Thank you so much for your kind word. I appreciate your respect for Japanese culture. I'm so happy to have been a part of your trip. It was a real pleasure to introduce sake to all of you foodies and share a wonderful evening together. See you in San Francisco!

Amazing Time in Tokyo with Toki!

If you are like me, you are probably skeptical of any reviews you read. But in all honesty I can tell you that Toki is truly special. It was obvious from the very beginning that she wanted this tour to be about me, and not what was convenient for her. She put more effort into customizing this tour to my preferences than I ever would have expected. Toki is classy, polite, and incredibly thoughtful. Until today, I was wondering if I made a bad decision coming to Tokyo. Well, Toki changed that entirely! I am so happy and grateful that Toki showed me around today! I have no doubt that if you choose Toki as your guide, you will feel as I do. Toki is truly the best!

Chris san, Thank you so much for your kind words. It gave me a lot of confidence. I think your heartfelt kindness and honesty in conveying your emotions have been conveyed to many Japanese people, including me. The two days I spent guiding you were a very special time for me as well. I hope to see you again in Japan or Texas!

Japan

Born and bred in Tokyo I am still living in the suburbs of Tokyo. I spent several years in the U.S. and the UK and wanted to show international visitors around Japan in return for the hospitality I had received in foreign countries. After coming back from the UK, I obtained the qualification of the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I can guide guests to every corner of Tokyo including areas off the beaten track. As a history fan I can tell you a historical episode behind the scenes. From a local perspective I can explain how we Japanese are getting along. Since I have science and technology backgrounds, I can give you a tour of scientific or technical things as well..

Japan

I’ve called Japan home for seven years, embracing everything from Tokyo’s vibrant urban energy to the tranquillity of the countryside. Before becoming a guide, I explored Tokyo like a curious long-term traveller, uncovering unusual temples, quirky landmarks, hidden backstreets, local live music venues, rural mountain villages, and one-of-a-kind cultural gems. My passion lies in crafting immersive journeys that dive deep into Japan’s heart, sparking a sense of wonder and escape that makes travellers feel worlds away from home. I’m excited to guide you through the Tokyo labyrinth. This city is endlessly fascinating—so layered and dynamic that even with a lifetime here, you’d only scratch the surface. I’ll show you how to navigate it like a local, as mastering the transport system isn’t as tricky as it seems, and I’ll help you gain the confidence to explore Tokyo on your own while we focus on the city’s hidden treasures. Together, we can visit parts of Tokyo most travellers overlook—the nostalgic charm of the Shitamachi, the hustle of salaryman districts, the neon-lit buzz of cyber Tokyo, and tranquil local power spots. Let’s discover the city’s hidden depths and create memories that will last a lifetime!

Hello, I'm Hiroshi. I am a National Government Licensed Tour Guide Interpreter in English. I have got a master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the U.S. I have been living in a city of Fujisawa, which is the city next to Kamakura, for more than 20 years, and also lived in Kamakura for more than 10 years. So far, I have visited almost all the temples and shrines in Kamakura. So I am sure I can offer you a pleasant trip to the historical city, Kamakura. In addition to Kamakura, I can also guide Tokyo, Yokohama, Hakone, Nikko, etc. because I have visited many places in Kanto area. For example, in Tokyo I can show you around the sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, Tokyo Skytree, etc. I like baseball and used to play baseball, but now enjoy watching professional baseball games. And I like watching Rakugo, Japanese traditional story-telling performance. Of course, I also like travelling very much, and am interested in Japanese culture and history. So I would like to show you Japanese tradition and culture. Let’s enjoy a trip in Japan together. I am looking forward to seeing you soon.
