Greetings.
My name is Berkay. I have started my life as an engineering student yet decided that this is not my passion. So I have decided to become a tour guide just like my father. Since 2015 I am in tourism industry and trying to create different experiences for my guests. I am interested in cooking, showing my culture, martial arts ,archery and of course history. Through Bow&Arrow - Turkish Archery Experience
From 500's to 1500's Turks and Mongols dominated the world's battlefields. This success was thanks to the technology of composite curved bows. In this tour, we will learn the history of archery and then specifically focus on Turksh-Ottoman archery. At the end of the tour, I will teach you archery in our private archery range.

2-Ancient Bazaars & Bosphorus
This is number 2 of my recommended tour in Istanbul. In this tour, we will follow the paths of ancient traders who came to the city for trade. We will visit 2 of the most spectacular Ottoman mosques that are constructed by Mimar Sinan. At the end of the day, we will join a cruise ship and sail next to the shores of İstanbul to understand the Bosphorus.

I clicked with Berkay right away , he is very talented and a reservoir of history, geography and linguistic knowledge. His passion for Turkish archery and traditional arts is definitely contagious and we were truly moved by it. The session of rich history and tour of the archery range, was accompanied by shooting arrows from the prized traditional bows. “It was a lot more than I expected. I had so much fun.”
Berkay was super nice and professional. He took me to the Archers Lodge, which is a very exclusive and antient ottoman training area, and showed me the museum and the laboratories for the construction of bows. I had a chance to see people practicing, and even had the oportunity to practice myself in an amazing VIP shoting area. I will surely return to Turkey just to keep on practicing traditional ottoman archery. Thank you, Berkay.

After getting my bachelor's degree in econometrics as a valedictorian and working in finance and foreign trade sectors in Türkiye for several years, I went to the USA. When I had studied my master's in economics at George Washington University (GWU), I was offered two prestigious postgraduate scholarships by The University of Nottingham (UoN) and so, I moved to the UK. After getting my PGCert in economics from The UoN, I moved back to Istanbul and started my master's in econometrics in order to pursue a PhD. However, at the same time, I took my first steps towards my professional carreer in tourism. During my life in Washington DC, for about 4 years, I had experienced not only being a volunteer translator for Turkish delegations and international students hosted by non-profit organizations sponsored by the US government, but also being a volunteer guide of them for cultural tours including the Smithsonian Institution, the world's largest museum complex. Therefore, after moving back to Istanbul, I desired presenting Istanbul - my lovely hometown! - and Türkiye to tourists in the right way and completed the tourist guidance program at Cappadocia University as a full scholarship scholar. I also hold an associate of arts degree in cultural heritage and tourism and have been studying art history at Istanbul Medeniyet University. I have been qualified by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Republic of Türkiye, as an expert professional guide in Istanbul / Cappadocia / Ephesus, Kusadasi and on the Eastern Roman Empire / Gobekli Tepe and Upper Mesopotamia / the Seven Churches of Revelation.
