About Tour Guide Kate A.
My tours were born from my passion for traveling and studying other cultures, from my avid late-night reading, and from meeting amazing, bright, and talented people from around the world. And, of course, it sprouted from my love for storytelling :). Now, there are 10 of us - guides in Morocco, the Netherlands, Belgium, Serbia and Hungary. We are historians, designers, physicists, journalists, sociologists, and art historians. I am thrilled to share my knowledge and show you these fabulous and hidden places from a tourist's perspective. We'll talk about the history of piracy and the slave trade. We'll also climb the walls of the ancient fortress, stroll through Morocco's old medina, untouched by the tourist frenzy, visit a synagogue and talk about how the people of two such different religions have coexisted and helped each other. We'll walk through some of the most picturesque districts with Art Deco and Neo-Moorish architecture. And, of course, we'll arrange a tasting of oysters and various types of seafood at the market.

We'll visit one of the most gorgeous palaces in the Maghreb region, filled with lavish mosaics and murals. We'll peek into hidden courtyards and visit a spice market with chameleons and turtles! About half an hour's drive away from Marrakech, it's a different world. Snow-covered mountain tops, blossoming valleys, foamy cascading mountain rivers and waterfalls, water mills, mud-brick villages clinging to mountainsides that seem impossible to reach, suspension bridges and terraced vegetable gardens. But the main thing is that a different group of people lives here. A group with its own culture, traditions, language and script. And the stories of this culture will surprise you.

We will see all the essentials: the ancient fortifications, the magnificent Bou Inania and Al-Attarine Madrasas, the mosaic fountain and the lavish caravan guest house, the world's oldest university with its unique library, the mosque and mausoleum of Sultan Moulay Idris and the dye houses of Fes. We will also visit the workshops where they make remarkable musical instruments and fabric from the fibres of Agave trees and other the non-touristy places of the city.

“Great time in Casablanca”
My morning tour of Casablanca was just wonderful. Although there were some unexpected and unforeseen circumstances from my side, my guide, Houssaine, made every thing work. He's a really knowledgeable, friendly and flexible person, with a sly sense of humor. This made for a really enjoyable and easy-going introduction to Casablanca.

I took the path of my ansisters almoravid dynasty who moves from the desert to found Marrakech. Marrakech is a vibrant home city that I love and appreciate very much.
