Hi, I'm Simon, a born and bred West-Countryman, living in Bath for the past 25 years.
I have a passion for, and a great knowledge of, local history, topography, wildlife, nature and the local fields, lanes, walking-trails and hedgerows we have in profusion, here in the Cotswolds and in the Bath area, not to mention the wonderful food and drink this area EXCELS in.
They say former journalists "end up knowing a little about a lot" and my interests are extremely widespread.
As a former TV Producer/Director of programmes on everything from food to house-restoration you will find me the perfect companion on your travels in Southern England

We will visit Stonehenge as it opens, where I, as your guide, will explain its full history, mystery, and changing usage over time, as well as the new, fascinating archaeological discoveries surrounding this world-famous, enigmatic monument. Heading west, I will take you for an amazing lunch in a 350-year-old country inn before spending the afternoon visiting ancient villages and monuments that challenge the Cotswolds for their beauty, but without the crowds.

“Exploring Bath with Simon”
This was our first trip to Bath and we wanted to make sure we didn't miss any of the secrets. Simon was great in communicating with us in discussing times, options, meeting points and advice for things to do outside his tour. We discussed opportunities to extend the 2 hour tour to make sure nothing was missed and Simon left extra time available for us so he could further detail the history behind the amazing sights. Simon was a pleasure to work with. Was so knowledgeable and informative. This was by no means a rehearsed tour. Simon encouraged conversation and kept us engaged. We enjoyed every minute with Simon and would not hesitate to highly recommend him if you want a nice walk and an informative deep dive in to the history of Bath. When we return to UK we would love to have Simon show us the Cotswolds. We feel like we made a dear friend in Simon and the time he spent with us surpassed our expectations.
