Day 1: Mikumi National Park Safari from Dar es Salaam with Accommodation

The tour begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam, where our professional driver-guide will meet you at the reception between 6:00 and 7:00 AM to assist with your luggage and ensure you are comfortably settled in your safari vehicle. You will drive through the scenic landscapes of the Morogoro region, arriving at Mikumi in time for an afternoon game drive. As you enter Mikumi, you will start spotting wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, and, with some luck, lions and leopards. The vast Mkata floodplain offers excellent photographic opportunities, especially during sunset. After your game drive, you will be taken to your lodge or camp near Mikumi National Park, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by nature’s sounds.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Mikumi

After an early breakfast at your lodge or camp, you will head out for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park, exploring the expansive Mkata flood plains and Miombo woodlands, which are home to elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, and predators like lions and leopards. You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by nature, allowing you to maximize your wildlife viewing without rushing back to the lodge. In the late afternoon, you will continue your game drive as the light softens for photography before returning to your lodge or camp for an evening of relaxation and dinner, listening to the sounds of the wild under the starry sky.

Day 3: Mikumi – Udzungwa Mountains National Park .

After breakfast at your lodge or camp in Mikumi, you will take a short, scenic drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, known for its lush rainforests and unique biodiversity. Upon arrival, you will have the option to enjoy a village walk to experience the local community and learn about their culture, or take a short guided forest walk to begin exploring the rich flora and fauna of Udzungwa. This day allows you to ease into the peaceful natural surroundings while preparing for your waterfall hike the next day. In the evening, you will settle in for dinner and overnight at a lodge or camp near Udzungwa, surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Day 4: Udzungwa mountain Waterfalls Hiking

After breakfast at your lodge or camp, you will set out on a guided hike to the breathtaking Sanje Waterfalls, which cascade 170 meters down the lush slopes of the Udzungwa Mountains. As you hike through the rainforest, you will have the chance to spot colobus monkeys, colorful endemic birds, butterflies, and a variety of rainforest plants, making this a rich nature and photography experience. At the base of the waterfall, you will have the option to swim in the clear, refreshing waters while enjoying the beautiful scenery and the sound of cascading water around you. After a rewarding day in nature, you will hike back down and return to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the peaceful forest atmosphere.

Day 5: Morning experience then back to Dar es salaam

After breakfast at your lodge or camp, you will enjoy a relaxed morning to soak in the fresh forest air, with the option to take a short village walk to experience the local lifestyle and community culture one last time before departure. You will then begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, passing through the scenic landscapes of the Morogoro region and making stops for lunch and stretching along the way. You will arrive in Dar es Salaam in the late afternoon, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your memorable Mikumi and Udzungwa safari adventure.
