The Rongai Route is the only trail that approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side near the Kenya border. This short 3-day trek is perfect for travelers who want to experience Kilimanjaro hiking without reaching the summit.
You will trek through beautiful forests, moorland landscapes, and enjoy stunning views of Mawenzi Peak while hiking up to Second Cave Camp. The route is less crowded, peaceful, and offers excellent chances to see wildlife such as colobus monkeys and antelopes.

This is also the only route with the comforts of sleeping huts at every camp site with solar lights and comfortable beds. The huts are communal, and the bunks have a sponge mattress and pillow.
