Meeting Point
Darussalam Palace
- Meet-n-Greet with the Guide at Darussalam Palace (the Green Palace), it is where the tour commences. Darussalam Palace, the former residence of the 28th Monarch, Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III and birthplace of the current Monarch, stands as a historical landmark in the capital city. While the palace interior is not accessible to the public, its traditional Malay architecture and serene surroundings offer a glimpse into Brunei's regal past.
Golden Jubilee Crown Park
From its boardwalks, witness the timeless beauty of Water Village, largest water village in Southeast Asia. This juxtaposition of modern eco-design and traditional stilted homes creates a unique riverside panorama that reflects Brunei’s dual identity.
Get to see a 9.3m structure built in the shape of a picture frame, named The Frame Brunei Darussalam, where it offers dual viewpoints of Brunei's two most famous landmarks, the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and Water Village.
Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque
Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque,
An iconic symbol in Bandar Seri Begawan, epitomizes Brunei’s blend of traditional Islamic and contemporary architecture. Named after the 28th Sultan of Brunei, this architectural masterpiece features a stunning golden dome, Italian marble columns, and intricate stained-glass windows, showcasing fine craftsmanship from around the world. The mosque sits gracefully by a tranquil lagoon with a replica 16th-century royal barge, symbolizing Brunei’s regal heritage and Islamic devotion.
Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien
A significant historical site where the country’s independence was declared in 1984. Today, it functions as a large venue for ceremonial events, including National Day celebration and the King’s birthday. The site also features gardens commemorating the capital city’s name change as of what we call it today, Bandar Seri Begawan.
Royal Wharf
Has a rich history as both a port and an entry point for passengers and imported goods arriving by sea. The significance of this wharf, along with the former customs building, lies in its role as a historic gateway to Brunei. There is a golden fountain monument to honor of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah's 60th birthday, built in Bandar Seri Begawan in 2006, features a distinctive design with a tall bent column that forms the Arabic numeral 60, illuminating at night, creating a notable landmark along the capital's shoreline.
Kianggeh Market
A bustling hub of local culture and commerce in the capital city, offers a unique experience of vibrant market scene, presenting a wide array of shopping and eating alternatives. This market showcases all the distinguished goods of Brunei along with the traditional hand-woven handicrafts, which makes it a must-visit for those looking to immerse themselves in the local lifestyle.
Chinese Temple
Stands as the oldest Chinese temple, holding a significant place in the hearts of the Chinese community. It’s a cultural hub, a place where the Chinese community gathers to celebrate their traditions and heritage. The temple offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Brunei’s Chinese community. It’s a place where history, spirituality and artistry intertwine, creating a truly unforgettable experience.
General Post Office + Clock Tower
Where you be passing-by the General Post Office, built by the British Resident during the Treaty of Friendship in 1906.
