This tour will take you to see the great lake called the Tonle Sap. You’ll leave Siem Reap town around 8 o’clock in the morning and start the drive out to Kampong Phluk floating village. On the way there we'll take a first stop at Roluos market to experience the daily life of local people buying and selling their products. You will have chance to test their food or dessert if you wish too.
Then, we continue our trip to see the great lake called the Tonle Sap. Kampong Phluk which is a floating village situated on the Tonle Sap Lake. It’s more remote and less touristy than the other floating villages and visitors are often in awe of the tall houses sitting on top of the tall stilts which are clearly visible in the dry season. During the wet season, all these houses are floating on top of the lake.
Kampong Phluk is the largest village and community on the lake with a population around 10 times bigger than the other floating villages on the lake.
After spending there around two hours exploring the floating village, we’ll then head back towards Siem Reap town to have a lunch break at a local restaurant before continuing our visit to the Roluos group where we’ll see some the earliest Angkor temples built during the 9th century.
The Roluos Group represents what is left of Hariharalaya, the first major capital city of the Angkor empire. It has subsequently become known as the “Roluos Group” due to its being close to the town of Roluos.
The ancient name comes from the names of the gods Shiva and Vishnu. This capital city was established by King Jayavarman II and was the capital city for the Khmer empire for more than 70 years.
There are three main temples here which we will spend some time exploring including Lolei, Preah Ko and Bakong temple.
We then finish our visit around 4:30 to 5:00pm, return back to your hotel.
