Meeting Point
At your hotel
- We will meet you in the lobby of your hotel for pick-up.
Dujiangyan Panda Base
Upon arrival, you’ll sign in and put on your work clothes and gloves. Professional panda keepers will guide you through each task, while your tour guide remains with you to assist and ensure a smooth experience.
prepare bamboos for pandas
Professional staff will demonstrate how to prepare bamboos for the gaint pandas after which you will personally prepare food for the giant pandas. You’ll also enter the panda enclosures to observe keepers feeding the pandas up close.
Explore More Giant Pandas and Red Pandas
Your tour guide will take you to explore other areas of the base, where you can observe giant pandas and red pandas and capture plenty of memorable photos.
Lunch break
Enjoy your volunteer lunch right at the panda base, and immerse yourself in the daily routines of the giant panda keepers.
Enjoy a fascinating giant panda documentary
This documentary not only showcases the life of giant pandas but also shows how they are trained at the base to prepare for release back into the wild.
Panda Cake Making &Prepare food for the senior giant pandas
Since bamboo is low in nutritional value, panda cakes are made to provide extra nutrition.

As the Dujiangyan Panda Base offers only 60 volunteer spots for giant panda experiences each day, please don’t worry if the spots are fully booked when you make your reservation. We will be happy to arrange a volunteer program for you at another giant panda base—Wolong Panda Base.
