Antisna Nacional park.

This national park is located in the south east part of Quito, 1 hour 30 minutes driving. Antisana is famous for the biodiversity and the vast landscapes.

Antisana’s full day is about observing and photography of nature and animals, (birds and mammals). This national park contains the largest number of wild Cóndores nesting and living in the country, the different type of landscapes makes a paradise for birdwatchers in a habitat of more than 200 species.

Secas Lake

On the way to Antisana we will be birding on the road, low paramo area, bushes and low forest. From the lake starts Andean bear habitat and also we will be spotting the unique bear of South America, the Andean Bear.

Cóndores Viewpoint

This view point is from the National Park dedicated to monitoring the Andean Cóndores cliff, its nesting and reproduction. The canon on the front of the view point is where the Cóndores are nesting, growing and flying, also it is above the bushes forest giving more chances to see and photograph birds.

Chukirahua Plant

Ecuadorian hillstar is a iconic hummingbird of the country. Endemic, this hummingbird lives over 12000 feet and feeds on a plant which is called Chukirahua. This area has a vast chukirahua area and the chances to see and photograph are high.

Mica Lake

Located at 4000 meters above sea level, glacier water runs through the Andes landscape and forms the lake, water birds species especially into the altitude.

Lunch place

Taking the same road back, spotting the bird missing on the way, and leave the national park optional lunch, the restaurant has a feeder where the hummingbirds are and a nice garden to photograph birds.
