Hit on the rich heritage of Minya, often called the (Bride of Upper Egypt). Located in the heart of the Nile Valley, Minya is home to some of Egypt's most fascinating archaeological sites, offering visitors a unique journey through different periods of ancient Egyptian history, from the Middle Kingdom, namely Bani Hassan, to the revolutionary Amarna Period from the new kingdom time period and the Greco-Roman era when it comes to Tuna el-gabal.

Meeting Point

Meet up with the tour guide in the lobby of your hotel in Minya.

- The tour guide will contact you the day before to let you know about when and where exactly you will met up with them. Note. If the hotel is in Cairo so the pick up time will be earlier if you will have an overday to Minya and return back to Cairo.

Bani Hassan stop

The first stop is Beni Hassan, one of the most important necropolises of the Middle Kingdom nearly 2050–1650 BC.

The site contains beautifully decorated rock-cut tombs belonging to the powerful governors and officials who ruled Middle Egypt during the Dynasties (11 to 13). The tombs are famous for their vivid wall paintings depicting daily life, agriculture, hunting, wrestling, military training, and trade activities. These scenes provide an exceptional insight into the lives of ancient Egyptians nearly 4,000 years ago.

Tell El-Amarna

Out second stop is the famous Tell el-Amarna, the capital city founded by Pharaoh Akhenaten, the father of king Tut ankh amon, during the 18th Dynasty c. 1350–1330 BC.

Akhenaten introduced one of history's earliest forms of monotheistic worship by focusing on the sun disk, Aten. He built an entirely new capital city, Akhetaten means (Horizon of Aten), in the desert cliffs of Minya.

Today, visitors can explore the remains of this unique city and learn more about one of the most dramatic religious and political revolutions in ancient Egyptian history.

Tuna el-gabal necropolis.

Our final stop is Tuna El-gabal necropolis.

The site flourished during the Late Period and the Greco-Roman Period and contains remarkable monuments that reflect the blend of Egyptian and Greek cultures, (remarkably seen in Petosiris tomb).

Among its most famous attractions are the Tomb of Petosiris, often called "the Egyptian Sistine Chapel," and the Tomb of Isadora including her mummy, a beautiful example of a Greco-Roman burial. The site is also known for its extensive catacombs containing thousands of mummified ibises birds and baboons dedicated to the god Thoth.

Important note: You'll be seeing a real well-preserved mummy in Isadora tomb. If any of you are a bit uneasy of seeing mummies, please keep that in mind before we enter the tomb.

Now it is the time to head back the hotel.

Ending Point

The same place، The tour will end at the same location where the tour day began. However, there is flexibility if you would prefer to be dropped off at another location, especially if it is on the way back to the original starting point.

• Please be prepared for a considerable amount of walking during this tour, especially in desert areas. We strongly recommend wearing light-colored clothing and comfortable walking shoes.

• Please bring sunscreen, particularly if you have sensitive skin, as temperatures can be very high.

• Kindly make sure you have a credit or debit card available for ticket purchases, as cash payments are not accepted at archaeological sites.

• Please bring a valid student ID card to benefit from the discount of 50%
