“Amazing Tour with Marwa”
I messaged a few guides on this site and Marwa was the standout in terms of friendly communication and her positive reviews and price made the decision. We had a 2 day cruise stop in Alexandria and wanted to see the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Marwa organised the entire thing for us including a driver with a modern Toyota with A/C to pick us up from Alexandria cruise port, drive 2.5 hours to the GEM where we met Marwa. She is very knowledgeable and gave us a great tour around the amazing museum taking us to see all the best things and explaining a lot of the history very clearly including bizarre and funny stories from ancient Egypt and answered all our questions and was very flexible for breast feeding stops etc for our 18 month old. Afterwards, she gave us the option to eat at a (tourist) restaurant she knew or to eat at our hotel. We went with her recommendation and we got to try a selection of local dishes and was decent for £20 each. I’d booked the Hayat Pyramids View Hotel so they dropped us off there afterwards. The Hotel was decent with great views. The food at the hotel looked great through with some local guys having a big dinner there. I’d do that next time. Buy alcohol at Drinkies which is the only trustworthy place nearby. We arranged to meet Marwa at 8am and went straight into the Giza Necropolis. Marwa dealt with all the ticket agents for the sites and the museum and I just paid with my card. Guides go in for free. I paid Marwa for the driver in cash. Marwa had originally wanted to take us to Saqqara first, which I didn’t understand. She said the traffic might be worse later, but for me part of the reason to stay right by that pyramids was that we could go in early and get photos before it got too crowded. It was definitely the right decision to hit Giza first and we got great photos. Saqqara is less busy and less developed. Marwa was a real star and even looked after our daughter whilst we went into two of the pyramids. Recommended.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a beautiful and thoughtful review! It truly means so much to me that you chose to tour with me during your short cruise stop in Alexandria, and I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed every part of your experience. It was a real pleasure spending time with you and your lovely family—your little Clara is absolutely adorable and such a little explorer! I really appreciate how organized and easygoing you both were, which made planning everything smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. I'm glad the visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza Plateau exceeded your expectations, and I’m happy we made it to Giza early for those amazing photos—totally worth it! Thank you as well for your kind words about my guiding and communication. I always try to make my tours personal, flexible, and comfortable—especially for families traveling with young children—so it makes me genuinely happy to know you felt well taken care of. I’ll be more than honored to welcome you back to Egypt again one day—there is still so much more to explore together, from Saqqara and Dahshur to Luxor, Aswan, and beyond! Until then, I wish you and your beautiful family all the best in your travels and adventures. ️ With warm wishes, Marwa Your Egyptian friend

“Tour of Cairo on our stopover”
We had a 14 hour stopover in Cairo on our way to Kenya, so I booked a tour with Marwa. She communicated very well with us and we really enjoyed our tour with her. Marwa is a local guide and enjoys meeting people from all over the world. Friendly and personable, she guided us to the Giza plateau to see the amazing pyramids and took photos of us. I was amazed when we rode camels and we have some lovely photos of the experience. The papyrus museum was very interesting and we enjoyed the demonstrations. The NEMC was amazing and we loved the displays and mummies! Such a wonderful tour during our stopover in Cairo! Marwa is a true professional and we highly recommend her as your guide.

Marwa was so knowledgeable and kind. She is extremely easy to understand When we wanted to adapt our plans, she was so flexible. Ensured we had an easy time getting into venues, plus she encouraged us to look at details. Plus she is an excellent photographer! Sadly we didn’t get a picture with her! We highly recommend Marwa!!

Hidden historical spots in the medieval Cairo
The Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo contains 100,000 antiques from all over the Islamic world. We go to the historic path of monuments with a unique archaeological style. These monuments are mosques, palaces, schools, and shrines (domes). the meeting point is near the museum. After visiting the museum, we can walk to Bab Zewila and the other spots, which are close to each other, or take a tuktuk because of the narrow streets.
