“Overall well-organized trip”

We booked a two-day private trip with Black Camel Tours in January and overall had a good experience, though there were some ups and downs. The organization of the tour was excellent and the itinerary was well-planned with the right balance of activities. The places we visited were very interesting, but we never felt rushed or exhausted, and we had plenty of time to enjoy each site and take photos without stress. The driver was a highlight of the trip; he was very punctual, respectful, and we felt completely safe in his car, which is saying a lot given how crazy Cairo traffic can be. Just be aware that they do charge extra if your hotel is located outside of the Cairo city center. However, we had mixed feelings about our guide. She was helpful and explained the history, but we sometimes struggled to understand her due to her accent. More importantly, we wished she had been more proactive. There were periods where she didn't speak much, and we felt she could have offered more insight without us having to ask. We also felt she could have done a better job shielding us from locals and scammers. Vendors in Cairo can be very intense trying to sell overpriced items, and we felt she didn't really step in to protect us or ensure we were getting a fair deal, which is something you usually rely on a private guide for. Overall, it was a solid experience with great logistics and driving, but I would probably request a different guide next time.

3-Day Private Egypt Tour with Grand Egyptian Museum, Pyramids & Saqqara – 29 to 31 December

“1 star Very Poor Experience - Ahmed”

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. Ahmed made several written promises that were not honored during our 3-day Cairo/Giza tour. He explicitly stated that he would personally be our guide for all three days, but he never showed up even once. Instead, inexperienced substitute guides were sent without prior notice or consent, and the quality did not match the premium price we paid. We also paid USD 90 extra for the Pyramids Sound & Light Show with Dinner, which was never provided, and no refund was offered. Despite the package clearly including the Inside Great Pyramid (Khufu) ticket, we were forced to pay again at the entrance, resulting in a duplicate charge made under pressure to avoid last-minute disruption. The tour was sold as a full 3-day private tour, but on Day 1 we were told on-site that it was a “half-day tour” and asked to pay extra—this was never disclosed before booking. Other issues included:    •   Very old vehicle despite “modern A/C vehicle” being promised    •   No refreshments or bottled water provided    •   No lunches provided on any day, despite being included Overall, this was a case of misrepresentation, undelivered services, and poor professionalism. I would not recommend booking with Ahmed.

“Mislead and disappointed”

There are many other options to explore Cairo with a hired tour guide, such as Klook, it was my mistake to try something new. I never met the man communicated with on the site. When I reached Cairo I got a message that another man, Michael will be meeting me and taking me around. He is not a Egyptologist. He offered minimal information about the sites I visited and only offered information when prompted by me. I learned more from overhearing conversations of other tour guides on the bus going around pyramids. The sites are amazing but the experience with GOWITHGUIDE was very disappointing.

Providing clear historical context and an engaging experience is a key part of our service. Regarding the guide change, in some cases operational reasons require assigning an alternative guide.
