The Battle of the Somme which started on the 1st of July, 1916 was one of the bloodiest in the history of the British Empire with losses of about 20, 000 deaths at the end of the day.
It took until November 1916 where finally Germans retreated.
On this tour I will offer you to discover this battle by visiting major sites where many countries from the Commonwealth were engaged as Beaumont Hamel trenches, Thiepval, The Lochnagar Crater and many other places. . .
Hotel or Amiens Train Station
You will see remains of trenches (British, Newfoundland and German). The Visitor Center
Visit the Ulster tower monument. The monument is dedicated to the 36th Irish Division who fought on the Somme offensive 1st of July, 1916.
Visit the Thiepval Memorial dedicated to the 72000 missing soldiers and its visitor center.

First involvement of the Australian forces on the Somme to take the town of Pozieres on July 1916 (1st and 2nd Australian Division).
The involvement of the South African Brigade from 14th to 20th of July 1916.
Visit of the Memorial and Museum dedicated to the sacrifice of the soldiers in World War One and Two.
Stop to the New Zealand Memorial to talk of the offensive against the German line from the Caterpillar Valley on September 1916.
Stop to the Lochnagar Crater the place where you will see the result of an underground explosion made by the British forces on July 1st, 1916.
