Located north from Budapest ca. half an hour drive. It captivates visitors primarily with its art and culture. Szentendre is located at the gate of the Dunakanyar (Danube Bend), right next to the river Duna.It is full of museums and galleries, one of the artists’ colonies was established here.
The city is also well known for its Serbian residents, we can find altogether 6 Serbian orthodox churches in this small city.
The city also had tradition of wine culture preserved in street names.
Battyhány Square
- We take HÉV (local railway) going out of the city to Szentendre. Battyhány Square can be accessed by metro line no. 2 (red line) or trams no. 19 or 41. or buses no. 11 or 39.
From the station we walk into the city. There we roame the streets learning about the history of teh city and looking at colourful old houses, ortodox churches, museums, going down to riverside. You will have some free time to have an icecream or coffe in one of the cafés or restaurants.
We re going home by local railway.
