It was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh to enable ladies of the royal household to watch the life and processions of the city. This will be a photostop.
City Palace
The City Palace in Jaipur was once the seat of kings as it was from here that they ruled the region. One of the best tourist spots in the city, the City Palace is a vast complex and includes several buildings, courtyards and gardens. The architecture is a fusion of Indian, Mughal, Rajput and European styles and you can see the grandeur of the fusion in every cook and corner of the palace. The red and pink sand stone in which it is built adds a special beauty to the palace. The decorated gateways add elegance and magnificence to the structure. The City Palace of Jaipur is a great example of how design, art and creativity can be blended to form an exquisite symbol.
Jantar Mantar- the observatory
Jantar Mantar in Jaipur has captured the essence of many a wanderlust over the years. An open-air astronomical observatory, this UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the rare and timeless places of attraction in Jaipur, and the world.
With an illuminating history that predates modern civilization, this observatory was far ahead of its time and showcased the ancient ways of reading stars and skies.
Built in the early 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, it is a conglomeration of fixed stones and very large structures. Each has its specific usage. The main reason for it being built was because of the Maharaja’s fascination with celestial objects and movement of different bodies in the sky.
Jantar Mantar in Jaipur has 19 large instruments with very specific purposes, the most popular and prominent one being- the Samrat Yantra. It is considered to be largest sundial of the country.
Block Printing
After, the sightseeing we will visit the famous block printing of Jaipur. Woodblock printing or block printing is a technique for printing text, images or patterns as a method of printing on textiles and later paper. Block Printing is done on cotton fabrics. Jaipur is an important center in India where block printing has gained a good prominence and the designs of the block printing that originated in Rajasthan are considered the most popular and best of all other designs. The printing involves laying the cloth/fabric, which is to be printed, on flat tables and impressions are made using the beautifully carved blocks. In case of direct printing, the block is dipped in the colored dye and impressions are made. In case of resist dyeing, impression of an impermeable material (clay, resin, wax etc) is made on the fabric, which is then dyed in the desired shade.

Namaste,
I am Neha from the Heritage City (Jaipur), working as a tour guide. May I say as a cultural ambassador since 2007 appointed by the Department of Tourism, India. I have mastered in Medieval History of India (Post Graduate) which has educated me and enhanced my knowledge to compliment my job as a tour guide as it helps me to explain different aspects of History, architecture, religion and secularism, colors, languages, dresses, culture and traditions.
I have an instinct that I specialize in taking around my city Jaipur and various Heritage monuments, especially for lady guests. The list is long to name them, but proudly if I name them it starts with MS. OPRAH WINFREY, "Queen of All Media", Ms. Mary Lindmann- Community Builder, Darrah Joy. In Addition to this, many CEO's, artists, magicians (Zubin Mehta), travel writers, etc. with their families, friends and companions.
I always wanted to do a job in which I talk about the world and compare it with city's heritage. This job truly blends with my passion of talking to the nationals of developed countries I just enjoy it. Through that I learn a lot and try to help the society in sustaining of restoration work. That nature of mine has fetched me many dignitaries, diplomats through their respective embassies, consulates, Dutchess and Dukes and many other private star hotels, namely Aman Group, Oberoi's, Taj Group and ITC.
I have received many compliments for my tailor made itineraries by repeated guests as they are the best judges to differentiate their previous visits with mine. As I totally emphasize to show them the actual India differently by making Heritage Walks many other typical Indian ways. I want them to look India through my eye which is truly INCREDIBLE!
