Namiseom Island

You will take a boat to get to Namiseom, there are tall trees lining both sides of the roads such as Metasequoia Road and Maple Forest. There are also spots where TV dramas(e.g. Winter Sonata) were filmed.

Namiseom used to be a place where college freshmen orientation meetings and singing contests were held. Thus, it has become a place of good memories for middle-aged adults. As Korean TV dramas(e.g. Winter Sonata) filmed there have become popular overseas, many foreign tourists are currently visiting.

The arboretum has many gardens with various kinds of trees and flowers. There are a Swinging Bridge, streams & valleys. You can also see traditional Korean houses with ponds and gardens. You can enjoy different beauty in each of the four seasons.

● Personalized Pace : "We don't follow a rigid bus schedule. If you want to linger longer at the Morning Calm Garden to enjoy the silence, we stay. It's your time, not the bus driver's."

● Historical Context: "I explain the 4,300-year relationship between Koreans and their mountains and rivers, providing a deeper understanding of why these landscapes are cherished."

● Authentic Dining : "For lunch, I highly recommend the region’s signature dish:

Dak-galbi (Spicy Stir-fried Chicken). It is a culinary icon of this area. I will explain the fascinating history of this local specialty.

* Morning time, we better leave Hotel early to have more time to enjoy Namiseom and the next spot.

On the way back to Seoul, the roads are usually congested.

We booked a last-minute tour with Andy, and he went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable experience. After we mentioned a few areas we were interested in, Andy promptly met us at our hotel—right on time—and took care of everything from there. He began by giving us a small booklet with the history of Korea and guided us through an incredible journey into the country’s past. We spent many hours together visiting historical sites, including the palace, and throughout the day he shared fascinating insights about Korean history, culture, and religion. His deep knowledge, combined with his experiences around the world, allowed him to draw thoughtful comparisons across different religions and cultures, which we found truly valuable. Andy was kind, diligent, and personable. He gave us great local tips, helped us buy ginseng, joined us for a casual meal at a convenience store, and even took many great photos of us along the way.
