Nami Island
Nami Island (남이섬, Namiseom) is a picturesque, half-moon-shaped island located in Chuncheon, about 63 km (40 miles) northeast of Seoul. It's one of the most popular day-trip destinations from the capital, known for its romantic walking paths, scenic tree-lined roads, and peaceful nature. The island is famous for its iconic tree-lined avenues, especially the Metasequoia Road, Gingko Tree Lane, and Cherry Tree Lane.
It became a hotspot after the hit drama "Winter Sonata" (2002) was filmed there. Fans still visit iconic filming spots. The island is car-free and full of kid-friendly spaces, art installations, quirky sculptures, and even animals like squirrels and ostriches.
Railbike
Gangchon Rail Bike (강촌레일바이크) is a popular outdoor attraction in Chuncheon, South Korea, offering a unique way to experience the region's natural beauty. Visitors pedal along a scenic 8.5 km course on rail bikes, traversing a disused railway track that winds through picturesque landscapes and themed tunnels. The ride begins at Gimyujeong Station and covers approximately 8.5 km. The first 6 km involves pedaling the rail bike, followed by a short train ride along the Bukhangang River to the endpoint.
Along the route, riders pass through several creatively decorated tunnels, each offering a unique visual experience. After completing the course, a complimentary shuttle bus transports visitors back to the starting point at Gimyujeong Station.
