It is a historic riverside pavilion located in the northern part of Ganghwa-do Island, overlooking the Imjin-gang River. Today, Yeonmijeong is cherished for its peaceful atmosphere, panoramic river views, and deep connection to Korean history.
Ganghwa Jejeokbong Peace Observatory
From here, visitors can see across the border into North Korea, including parts of Gaeseong. It offers a quiet, reflective space with displays about the Korean War and hopes for reunification. The observatory is both a scenic viewpoint and a reminder of the ongoing division of the Korean Peninsula.
