I was born and grown up in Sijilmassa, a Town with deep culture, history, authenticity, simplicity, heritage and huge tribal diversity. It is located at the large oasis of Tafilalet at the heart of Sahara desert, and the oldest trading and civilization zone in Morocco. I got my bachelor's degree from the University of Meknes “English department” but I also went to Shenzhen in China for Mandarin language classes. And I am also a holder of a national tour guide license officially from the ministry of Tourism officed in Rabat. I took the path of my ansisters almoravid dynasty who moves from the desert to found Marrakech. Marrakech is a vibrant home city that I love and appreciate very much. “Highly engaging, informative and varied tour”
We could not initially find Abderrazzak, but he had sent a stand-in, whose name we have not remembered and it was a fabulous 4 hours by the time we reached the end. Apologies our guide was excellent. He was well-informed, spoke excellent English and took account of our interests. We quickly learnt about the history of Morocco and the dynasties which have ruled this part of North Africa. He did not ask us to support specific stalls (some guides we hear get commission for doing this), but did allow us to see various souks and to talk to the craftsmen and owners. We learnt an enormous amount which had not been read in a guide book by us in advance and really set us up for the remaining 3 days to navigate this great city. Would encourage all to find the copper souk and to try spiced Saharan coffee. Highly recommend the tour.

“Not up to our expectations”
Hi! Unfortunately the tour was not like the description. The guide sent me a message at 20:20 the night before regarding the pick-up. But there was a problem with the WIFI at the hotel so I saw this message just before 9:00. We did not know this place was so we had to get a taxi. The guide, Mustapha, started by excusing his French and said he spoke Franglais. I speak French and English but my friend only French and the both of us sometimes had problems understanding him. He really has to improve both of these languages. This is not presentable. He did not tell us much, mostly when we asked questions. After the hike up to a tiny waterfall, it was lunchtime. We went to a very nice restaurant with great views to the Atlas mountains. The food was good. BUT in the description of this tour it is indicated that we will have lunch in the guide's family home in a small Berber village. I had decided to book this special tour (rather than somebody else's) because of this upcoming experience. After lunch we drove straight to Marrakech. We asked the driver if he could drop us of closer to our hotel - but no he could not because his boss had booked him on another tour in a short time. So I'm sorry to say that this tour was far away from our expectations. And for this price - I'm almost speechless. Some days after this tour, I met some people from my country who had been on similar guided tours for only 20 dollars. But I want to be clear on one thing - both the driver and the guide were extremely nice and helpful. They took very good care of us and all our needs and did everything we asked for.
