Aomori Tour Guides

Hiro K.

Hi, I’m Hiro. With me, you can experience travel that goes beyond sightseeing and connects you with local culture and everyday life in Japan. You might cook with local grandmothers, walk through rice fields with farmers, taste seasonal ingredients, visit a neighborhood grocery store, stop by a small coffee shop, or go bar hopping with locals. These are ways to enjoy the slower rhythm of life in Aomori. My great-grandmother was from Hakodate, Hokkaido. I have visited many times since childhood, so I can guide you there too and help you explore Aomori and Hakodate in one journey. I was born and raised in Aomori and have close connections with local farmers, families, and community members. Before returning home, I spent eight years in Tokyo serving in the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, where I helped welcome VIP guests, including state guests and world leaders. Having lived in both Tokyo and rural Japan, I can help you experience both sides of the country. I’m a licensed guide and a licensed nature guide, as well as a Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor. I also hold Medic First Aid certification. If you enjoy being outdoors, I would be happy to guide you along the Michinoku Coastal Trail or introduce you to other nature experiences. Feel free to contact me anytime. I would be happy to welcome you to Japan.
