The itinerary timing is dependent on the seasonal opening hours and also the guest's arrival time at the port, ideally taking 9:00 ferry from Uno Port to arrive at 9:20 at the port on Teshima and then head to Chichu Museum which I will time for lunch there.

Following a tasty lunch at a local eaterie, we will stop for photos at the Giant Pumpkin and head back to Miyanouar to take a leisurely look at the local art project installations I
before taking the ferry back to Uno Port to rejoin your ship.

Art Island "Naoshima” one day trip

The itinerary timing is dependent on the seasonal opening hours and also the guest's arrival time at the port, ideally taking 8:40 ferry from Uno Port to arrive at 9:20 at the port on Teshima and then head to Teshima Art Museum and then back to the port for lunch.

Following a tasty lunch at a local eaterie, we will take a leisurely look at the local art project installations in Karato and depending on time available a short distance away at Leura before taking the ferry back to Uno Port to rejoin your ship.

Teshima Art Island Excursion Day Tour

Kurashiki has many faces.  One of them is Kurashiki Bikan historical area.  In Edo Period Kurashiki was directly governed by Tokugawa Shogunate and it was prosperous as a town of a merchant.  We can see the houses and warehouses in those days along the stream called Kurashiki River.  We can watch and buy Japanese folkcraft in the shops and museums.  You can eat lunch in Ivy Square, which was a spinning factory in Meiji Period.  
Korakuen Park is one of three most beautiful gardens in Japan. It was made for the Japanese feudal lord in Edo Period. It is a very large garden. You walk in the garden and enjoy beautiful scenery of the ponds, streams, hills, some houses .  You can visit Okayama Castle which was reconstructed.

We will meet at Okayama Station and take a short tram ride for you to enjoy my guided tour of feudal age Okayama Castle and adjacent classically landscaped Korakuen Gardens. We will lunch transit to Kurashiki for lunch and stroll the Bikan Preserved Historical Quarter.

 This is a quiet tour. There are many places to visit and some things to experience and watch in Kurashiki Bikan historical area. You have enough time. You don't have to be busy. After I ask you what you want to do or watch here, I will make a special plan only for you. If you are interested in art, you can spend a lot of time in Ohara Museum. If you are interested in architecture, you can spend a lot of time in Ohashi House. If you like vehicles, you can ride a boat and a rickshaw. If you want to experience Japanese life, you can wear kimono or cook Japanese sweet 'murasuzume' or make your own 'tenugui' Japanese towel. If you like shopping, you can walk and watch many souvenir shops. There are many good restaurants in this area. You can enjoy Japanese dishes, Western dishes, Indian dishes, and so on. 
 

Okayama Korakuen Garden , Okayama Castle, and Yumeji Museum

There you can see many small islands and Seto Ohashi Bridge in Seto Inland Sea from Washuzan Hill. It is a very beautiful scenery. You can see such a scenery only in this area in Japan.

Are you interested in pottery?  If you are interested in pottery, Bizen ware Area is one of the most interesting places in Okayama. Bizen ware is very special.  Pottery is usually painted or glazed. But Bizen ware isn't .    Superior clay is used and put in the tunnel kiln unglazed  and fired with pine wood at 1250°C  for 20 days . It acquires various subdued colors. You can visit the pottery and see various kinds of Bizen ware and the tunnel kiln. You can also buy your favorite Bizen ware china. If you hope, you can also make Bizen ware by yourself with the help of the potter. Kurashiki Bikan historical area is a very popular sightseeing spot.  After visiting Bizen you will visit Kurashiki Bikan historical area and see old Japanese    warehouses and the residents of the then wealthy merchants along the stream with the willow. They are used as shops or the museum or restaurants. You can find good souvenirs.
