I was born and raised in Kamakura. I have spent most of my life in Japan except 2 years in the U.S. I am a certified national tour guide living in Kamakura. There are many temples and shrines in Kamakura. Asakusa has a world-famous Senso-ji temple with Thunder Gate. They are not only the holly places where people come to worship but the historic sites where visitors can touch and feel the Japanese cultures and traditions.
