Hi, I am Junko, a national licensed tour guide in English.
I can also speak Italian to have a normal conversation.
I was born and raised in Tokyo so I could say that I know Tokyo inside out. I believe Tokyo is a beautiful and traditional city as well as a modern and exciting city. In addition to famous tourist sites, there remain many attractions that are not well known among tourists.
I have had experiences of guiding foreign tourists as a volunteer guide for several years before becoming a licensed tour guide. So I can give you useful suggestions in traveling Japan. I truly like meeting people from different countries and cultures and sharing the fun of discovering Tokyo and its vicinity.
I can always tailor the tour to fit your interests and prepare an itinerary so that your stay will be unforgettable.
Why don’t you explore Tokyo with me? Please feel free to contact me at any time! I am looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo.
My day was Junko was amazing. We squeezed in so many sights. The places she suggested were the highlights of Tokyo and she navigated me around town like a pro! Junko found us wonderful, authentic spots for meals and tea, took me to some places off the tourist trail (and lotsa places on it;), and even booked a river cruise for us to view the cherry blossoms. I was grateful to have her explain the many Japanese traditions and customs along the way and learned so much. It was the best start to my Tokyo trip and we covered a ton of ground in 1 day. All very enjoyable and at a good, relaxing pace too! I highly recommend her. She is a wealth if knowledge, fun, and all around great guide.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed my tour. Hope you create many unforgettable memories in Tokyo and in Nagano. Thank you again. Junko
We are the first time visitors to Japan. Despite being quite experienced travelers, our first day in TOKYO was somewhat stressful. Our flight was rescheduled at the last moment by the airline, we were struggling to orient ourselves at Narita airport, and after exiting Shibuya station we were met by rain and cold wind. This all changed the following morning. The morning was sunny and we were met by our friendly guide Junko. She prepared for us a perfectly balanced plan of a tour of places that should not be missed. We appreciated her perfect local and historical knowledge as well as her ability to adjust to our preferences and momentary circumstances. She chose the perfect place for lunch that we enjoyed. We talked a lot and in a friendly manner and even exchanged personal information. At the end of the day, she helped us to navigate the puzzling environment of Tokyo Central Station and helped us to collect tickets for the next leg of our trip despite the fact that the time of the tour was already over.
Thank you so much such a great review, Petr and Theresa! I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed my tour. Hope you will create many wonderful memories in Japan. Junko
I spent a wonderful day with Junko. What a lovely lady and such great company. The correspondence beforehand was great and I had wanted advice on how best to get to Narita airport (I’d arrived at Haneda) and how to catch a boat to Asakusa, as I’d planned to go the following day. I also had a couple of additions to the itinerary, which were accommodated. Junko met me in the lobby of my hotel and was there waiting for me before the allotted time, with a copy of the itinerary and a useful guide book. It was a very full day and I felt that I’d covered so much and learned such interesting things from Junko about the traditions and culture. We started our day with a tea ceremony in beautiful Hamarikyu gardens and then along to the fish market. What a fabulous place that was! Junko showed me where locals buy sushi and we ate our snack on the roof terrace in the sunshine. Then on to Asakusa and the Senso-ji temple, with lots more interesting facts from Junko. Time was then spent on helping me familiarise myself with places I wanted to visit the following day. Off to Shibuya crossing next and finally the peace and beauty of the Meiji Jingu Shrine. Throughout the day Junko kept me entertained with historical facts and conversation was relaxed and informal. My phone battery died before the end of the day and Junko kindly took photos on my behalf and sent them on to me. She also accompanied me back to my hotel at the end of the tour, which was very thoughtful. I cannot recommend a tour with Junko enough. She made my visit to Tokyo! Thank you!
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review, Amanda! I am very glad I could help you create good memories in Tokyo. Hope to see you again. Take care and have a good day. Junko
Junko was great leading our family (2 adults and 2 kids) on a half-day Tokyo tour. She was attentive to our needs and understood that having kids meant being flexible and responsive.
Thank you so much for such a nice review, Sanjay!. I am very glad to have helped you know Tokyo. I hope you and your family will make great memories in Japan. Thank you again and take care. Junko
