Hello,
I'm Kouhei, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter.
I'm originally from Tokyo, but since I love outdoor activities and wanted to live in a place surrounded by abundant nature, I moved to here in Nagano in 2015.
I have traveled a lot of places in Japan and eventually decided to live in Nagano.
Nagano prefecture is sometimes described as "a roof of Japan" since most of its part are covered with high mountain range.
Because of that, the area gets lots of snow every winter.
It makes the place's nature and culture different from other areas in Japan.
I am also a Mountain Trekking guide and a Cycling Guide as well as English translator guide..
I want to guide you to super beautiful yet lesser known places!
I am very flexible, so please let me know your requests for the guided tour.
Let's explore the "Hidden Gem" of Japan together :)
(for example) Walking Tour : Matsumoto Castle, Zenkoji Temple, Togakushi Shrine, Obuse Town, etc
Mountain Hiking: Beginners to Intermediates (Northern Alps, Yatsugatake, etc)
Cycling Tours : Beginners to Intermediates (North Nagano Area), E Bikes tour available.
Other Specials :Snow Monkey, Picking Wild Vegetables and Cooking Tempura together,
Night Cherry Blossom Viewing, Visiting Sake Winery, Snow Shoeing in
National Park, etc
I can guide you not only in Nagano, but also some other areas such as Matsumoto, Takayama, Kanazawa.(Transportation fee for the guide needed.)
We had the most amazing day with Kouhei. He is was very good at stopping and sharing knowledge of the forest and the wildlife. It was beautiful and peaceful on the tour and then he looked after us with a break and made hot coffee out in the forest. Sharing his knowledge of the Shinto shrines added a lot to the experience and I would recommend to others that they also enjoy this day.
Thank you very much for joining the Togakushi Snowshoe Hiking Tour! I am very grateful that you enjoyed the tour :) It was a beautiful day! I hope you will enjoy the skiing and snowboarding as well, and maybe see you on the hill! Thank you!!! Best Regards, Kouhei Nishida
If you want to go snowshoe hiking at Togakushi, Kouhei is the best guide because he is very knowledgeable about the nature, culture and wildlife of the area. He was also flexible with the itinerary and fitted it to our schedule. Book with him for the best experience. Thank you very much Kouhei!
Thank you so much for joining the Nagano Snowshoe Hiking tour! It was great to meet you two. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour. Have a wonderful trip in Japan! Best Regards, Kouhei Nishida
We booked a 3 day tour with Kouhei around Nagano prefecture. We visited Matsumoto, the Jigokudani monkey park, Obuse Old town, plus a lovely hike to Togakushi Shrine and the Mirror Lake under lovely snow. Kouhei was a fantastic guide, entertaining me, my wife and our 2 daughters (8 and 12) with Japanese history and nature stories. I would definitely recommend him to anyone,
Thank you so much for visiting Nagano. It was really great to be able to spend 3 days with you and your family! I am also very happy to hear that you enjoyed Nagano :) Please say hi to everyone. Thank you!!
My family and myself had an amazing tour to tokagushi shrine and monkey forest guided by Kouhei. We had a child and a 6 years old. Kouhei is naturally hands on with kids. Genuinely patient, constantly caring, followed through our breaks, slow walks, made handful conversations with everyone of us and of course. snowball fights. Kouhei is well versed in English and he explained thoroughly well on all the places we visited. Recommended us an amazing soba restaurant for lunch (He also did an extra mile by booking us a dinner place) Shared us a lot of his experiences. In definite, we’ll be back for more extreme sports. Thank you kouhei for sharing us, your great personality and presence. We must say, you’re a natural and we’ll love to host you in Malaysia. See you soon for another great tour!
