Hello,
I'm Kouhei, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter.
I'm originally from Tokyo, but since I love outdoor activities and wanted to live in a place surrounded by abundant nature, I moved to here in Nagano in 2015.
I have traveled a lot of places in Japan and eventually decided to live in Nagano.
Nagano prefecture is sometimes described as "a roof of Japan" since most of its part are covered with high mountain range.
Because of that, the area gets lots of snow every winter.
It makes the place's nature and culture different from other areas in Japan.
I am also a Mountain Trekking guide and a Cycling Guide as well as English translator guide..
I want to guide you to super beautiful yet lesser known places!
I am very flexible, so please let me know your requests for the guided tour.

Visiting world famous "Snow Monkey" park and snowshoeing in beautiful Togakushi Shrine's forest! The Mokey park is outstanding and you will love it to see the wild monkeys relaxing in Onsen. Moreover, this tour offers the other special experience "Snowshoeing in Togakushi". Explore the snowy beech forests. Woodland creatures also roam the area, so keep your eyes peeled for animal tracks! Togakushi Snowshoe Hiking Tour
The mountains of the north Nagano are covered with deep snow during the winter. The pond freezes, all the shrubs are buried under the snow, and the trees wear beautiful white robes. The sound of footsteps and breathing of ourselves as we step on the snow in silence, and the footprints of rabbits and foxes that remain on the snow surface. In winter, when bushes are covered with snow, you can freely walk around the forest, and you can also get to the forest of giant trees,
Togakushi Pilgrimage Trail Walking Tour
Togakushi area is considered as one of the most important places for the Esoteric Buddhism. Togakushi Kodo is a path which has been used by mountainous ascetics since ancient times. On this tour, we are going to walk the pilgrimage trail and visit the five Togakushi shrines. Let's explore the mysterious culture and abundant nature of Togakushi area!

“Snowshoeing in Togakushi shrine ”
We had a blast snowshoeing with Kouhei our wonderful and knowledgeable guide. He was responsive and accommodating to accept our request for our available date. It was our 2nd time snowshoeing after our first in Hokkaido. Hike to togakushi shrine was fun and manageble. We even had local speciality soba at a resturant recommended by Kouhei. Overall highly recommend Kouhei if you're looking for snowshoeing experience. Thank you for the wonderful experience to finally see the amazing giant cedar trees at togakushi shrine. Take care. “Incredible tour”
This was a highlight of our trip to Japan. We had an amazingly serene and magical trip through the forest and to some shrines which Kouhei gave interesting information about. Kouhei was also very knowledgable about the nature of the area. We also had delicious coffee prepared by Kouhei in the forest and soba noodles for lunch. We were lucky to see a Japanese antelope! I would highly recommend this tour.

“Excellent family friendly snow fun ”
Kouhei was a wonderful guide, friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the chance to see the snow monkey park and Togakushi, two places we wanted to see but couldn’t have seen in one day by ourselves. It was great to snowshoe through the forest and see the king oak, and lunch at the soba restaurant was wonderful. A real highlight of our trip, Thankyou Kouhei.
