This temple, Shofuku-ji, is the first building designated as a national treasure in Tokyo. It was built in the Zen temple style in the Muromachi period. Its roof is beautifully curved. Being in the suburbs it has not many visitors now, but you will find it quite a treasure.
This is the relocated residence of Korekiyo Takahashi in Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum. He was Minister of Finance when assassinated by young miitary officers in 1936. There are a lot of interesting old houses and traditional shops in the museum, which will give you some idea of how Japanese people used to live.
A beautiul garden in the suburbs of Tokyo. It is situated on the cliff of the border of Musashino Terrace. It consists of a higher and a lower level and a waterfall connecting the two. On the site there are also a Western-style house and a tea house overlooking a pond. This garden is a place of scenic beauty designated by the nation.
