Meeting Point
At your hotel (Lucerne)
- I will meet you at the hotel and we will go to Lucerne train station together.
Train to Interlaken
The panoramic train departs at 10:06 a.m. This is one of the most picturesque panoramic routes in the country.
Large windows offer views of valleys, villages, and mountain ranges—it's like leafing through an album of Swiss postcards.
Along the way, we will see: Lake Alpnach—quiet and narrow, nestled against the rocks; Lake Sarnen—a mirror-like surface and green hills; Lungern Lake — one of the most beautiful in Switzerland, with turquoise water and houses on the slopes, the ascent to the Brünig Pass, where the train passes alpine farms and pine forests, the descent to Meiringen — the town of Sherlock Holmes, associated with the Reichenbach Falls. The last section runs along the turquoise Lake Brienz.
11:54 We arrive in Interlaken. A vibrant Alpine hub located in the heart of the Bernese Oberland. Known for its grand Belle Époque architecture and its status as Europe’s adventure capital, it provides the perfect jumping-off point for our ascent into the high peaks.
From Interlaken - to Grindelwald & The Eiger Express
12:04 PM train to Grindelwald.
The Gateway to the North Face Next, we arrive in the charming glacier village of Grindelwald, nestled at the foot of the Alps' most intimidating rock wall. From the state-of-the-art Grindelwald Terminal, we board the Eiger Express tricable gondola. This 15-minute aerial flight glides you breathtakingly close to the legendary Eiger North Face, whisking you up to Eigergletscher station with unparalleled views of the jagged limestone cliffs and frozen cascades.
Eigergletscer
Eigergletscher: The Threshold of Giants
The Gateway to the Summit From this high-altitude outpost at 2,320 meters, the legendary Jungfrau Railway begins its final, most daring ascent. Here, the cogwheel train plunges into a monumental 7-kilometer tunnel, carved directly through the limestone hearts of the Eiger and Mönch mountains to reach the "Top of Europe" — Jungfraujoch.
The Panorama Terrace Step onto the terrace for a front-row seat to the sheer majesty of the Alps. You’ll find yourself face-to-face with the formidable Eiger North Face, flanked by the soaring peaks of the Mönch and Jungfrau, with the emerald depths of the Lauterbrunnen Valley shimmering far below.
At the Glacier’s Edge Experience the raw power of nature as you stand at the very "tongue" of the Eiger Glacier. From this vantage point, you can witness the ancient, slow-motion dance of shifting ice and weather-worn rock—a rare glimpse into the primordial forces that shaped the Swiss Alps.
Jungfraujoch: The Top of Europe (3,454m)
The Crown Jewel of the Alps Arriving at the highest railway station in Europe is a sensory overload. You have stepped into a world of eternal ice, high-altitude science, and breathtaking Swiss engineering.
The Sphinx Observatory: Take the ultra-fast lift to this iconic "eagle’s nest" perched at 3,571 meters. From the 360° terrace, gaze down at the Aletsch Glacier—a 23-kilometer river of ice and a UNESCO World Heritage site—stretching toward the horizon.
The Ice Palace: Wander through a shimmering labyrinth carved directly into the heart of the glacier. This crystalline world features intricate ice sculptures frozen in time, where the floor beneath your feet is thousands of years old.
The Plateau: Step out onto the perpetual snow. Here, under the crisp Alpine sun, you can stand beside the Swiss flag for the ultimate photo, surrounded by the soaring summits of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.
Alpine Sensation: A cinematic moving walkway that pays tribute to the 19th-century visionaries and miners who blasted through solid rock to bring this dream to life.
Lindt Chocolate Heaven: Visit the world’s highest chocolate shop for a sweet encounter with Swiss tradition before we begin our descent.
From Jungfraujoch to Lauterbrunnen. The Descent: From Eternal Ice to the Valley of Waterfalls
Our descent begins aboard the iconic red Jungfrau Railway. As you re-trace your path through the 7-kilometer tunnel carved inside the Eiger and Mönch, you have a final moment to reflect on the glacial world before the train emerges into the crisp Alpine air at Eigergletscher station.
Crossing the Alpine Divide: Eigergletscher to Kleine Scheidegg
On this short stretch, the landscape shifts from raw rock to high-altitude meadows. At Kleine Scheidegg, you will board the yellow-and-green carriages of the Wengernalpbahn—the world’s longest continuous cogwheel railway—to begin the spectacular journey down toward the valley floor.
The Sunny Terrace: Wengen The train glides downward to reach Wengen, an idyllic, car-free village perched 1,274 meters above sea level.
Lauterbrunnen The final leg of the descent is a feat of engineering. The train clings to the steep mountain flank as the Valley of 72 Waterfalls opens up before you. This is the very landscape that inspired J.R.R. Tolkien’s Rivendell: a narrow, deep emerald valley flanked by massive vertical cliffs. You will arrive in Lauterbrunnen just in time to see the Staubbach Falls plunging nearly 300 meters from the rocks above, marking the perfect end to your Alpine odyssey.

About Tour Guide Julia S.
Hi!
My name is Julia, and I’m a private tour guide based in Zurich, Bern, and Lucerne. My journey began when I fell in love with fairy tales as a five-year-old bookworm. I studied cello for 11 years at the same school Oistrakh once attended (I’m originally from Ukraine). While history was my favorite subject and I dreamed of becoming an archaeologist, life led me to graduate in acting and work as a theater actress.
In 2008, I moved to Venice, where I started my career in tourism in 2011, guiding travelers across Italy, France, and Switzerland. By 2015, I had earned my license as a guide in Venice. In 2020, I relocated to Switzerland with my family and continued sharing my love for history, culture, and unforgettable experiences with travelers.
I strive to make every tour both enriching and enjoyable. You won’t be overwhelmed with dates and names—my goal is to share stories that inspire and connect. I hold all certifications required by the Swiss government and am also a certified guide in Venice and Chernihiv, Ukraine.
Please note: I’m not a driver, but I can accompany you in your car or help arrange a professional car and driver for your tour. Feel free to reach out anytime—I’d be delighted to help you plan your perfect Swiss adventure!

Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city, is renowned for its medieval architecture, cobblestone streets, and churches dating back to the 13th century. Often dubbed the “wallet of Switzerland,” it stands as a global financial hub, housing the headquarters of some of the world’s most esteemed banks. While walking around town, you will notice that many buildings have the year of construction engraved above the entrance. Some of them date back to the 14th century before the United States even existed!
