After visiting Bangkok and you are looking for a nice place to go near Bangkok, Ayutthaya is your choice. It is only about 1 and half hour from Bangkok but has a lot to see. It was the capital city of Thailand for 417 years from the mid-1300s to the mid-1700s. In this tour, we will visit a selection of temples in the Historical Park of Ayutthaya, such as: Wat Maha That, Wat Ratchaburana, Wat Thammikarat, Wat Phra Ram, Wat Phra Si Sanphet.

Most famous for the Buddha's head in the tree roots. No one really knows how it ended up here, but it was possible it was left behind by looters, who raided the city after its destruction by the Burmese army in 1767.
Meaning “the temple of Royal Restoration” . It was built in 1424 by King Borommarachathirat II as a memorial to his two elder brothers.
Wat Thammikarat was damaged during the Burmese sack of the city in 1767, but the temple ruins survive to testify to its grandeur. You can see the lion figures and rooster statues here.

Wat Phra Ram was built in 1912 B.E. by King Ramesuan at the cremation site for his father, King Uthong.
It has been registered as a national historic site by the Fine
Arts Department since 1935. This monastery was the most important temple of
Ayutthaya and situated within the Grand Palace grounds. It served as a model for the
Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok.
