Arrival at Culloden Battlefield

Arrive at Culloden Battlefield, one of the most important and emotional historic sites in Scotland. This was the location of the final Jacobite Rising battle in 1746, where the course of Highland history changed forever. Guests will have time to walk the battlefield, visit the memorial areas, and reflect on the historical importance of the site. If desired, guests may also visit the visitor centre independently.

Departure from Culloden

Leave the battlefield and continue through the peaceful countryside of the Inverness area. During the short drive, your guide will explain how the events of Culloden shaped life in the Highlands for generations.

Arrival at Clava Cairns

Arrival at Cawdor Castle

Arrive at Cawdor Castle, one of the Highlands’ most beautiful and best-known castles. Guests will have time to explore the exterior grounds and, if open and independently ticketed, may also visit inside the castle. Lunch Break Near Cawdor or Nairn Area

Enjoy a lunch stop at a local café, restaurant, or inn in the nearby area. Guests can relax over a meal, enjoy refreshments, and take in the quiet charm of the Highland countryside.

Drive Toward Nairn Coast or Scenic Local Route

After lunch, continue with a scenic drive through the surrounding region. Depending on the final routing and operating conditions, the tour may include a relaxing drive toward the Nairn area or a countryside route with short scenic pauses. This part of the tour offers a slower-paced opportunity to enjoy the landscapes beyond the main historical sites.

Short Scenic Stop

Pause at a viewpoint or attractive local stop for photographs and a short walk. Your guide may share additional stories about life in the Highlands, local estates, and regional heritage.

Return Journey to Inverness

Begin the drive back to Inverness. Sit back and relax while enjoying the final rural views of the day. Your guide may offer additional recommendations for sightseeing, dining, and local attractions in Inverness.

Arrival Back in Inverness

Return to central Inverness in the late afternoon, bringing your Highland history experience to a close.
