Guri Emir mausoleum
Our next stop is the Gur-e Amir Mausoleum, the final resting place of Amir Temur and his descendants. This masterpiece of Timurid architecture is famous for its turquoise dome, elegant tilework, and richly decorated interior. Inside, you’ll learn about Temur’s legacy, the Timurid dynasty, and the legends surrounding his tomb, making this site a powerful introduction to Samarkand’s golden age.
Registan square
We continue to Registan Square, the heart of ancient Samarkand and one of the most magnificent ensembles in Central Asia. Surrounded by three grand madrasahs—Ulugh Beg, Sher-Dor, and Tilya-Kori—the square tells the story of science, art, and empire. You’ll discover the meaning behind the stunning mosaics, the symbolism of the designs, and why Registan became the center of public life along the Silk Road.
Bibikhanim mosque
Next, we visit the grand Bibi-Khanum Mosque, once one of the largest mosques in the Islamic world. Built by order of Amir Temur, it reflects the ambition and power of his empire. You’ll learn about its fascinating history, architectural scale, restoration story, and the legends connected to Bibi-Khanum, making this stop both impressive and meaningful.
Siab bazaar
Our tour continues to Siab Bazaar, the liveliest and most authentic market in Samarkand. Here you’ll experience daily local life, explore stalls filled with fresh fruits, spices, nuts, bread, and traditional sweets. This stop offers a true taste of Uzbek culture and a chance to interact with locals while learning about regional food traditions and customs.
Shakhi Zinda ensemble
We conclude with the Shah-i-Zinda Ensemble, a stunning avenue of mausoleums and one of Samarkand’s most sacred sites. Dating back to the 11th–15th centuries, it is renowned for its breathtaking blue tilework and spiritual atmosphere. You’ll learn about its religious significance, the legends of Qusam ibn Abbas, and why this place remains an important pilgrimage site today.
