We will cover as much as we can, depending on your pace, likes, and curiosity. We will cover the classics, the must-see, enough to feel like a porteño, port person, a native of this city. Plaza de Mayo/May Square
The heart of the city, the founding place. Here we will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, the most important church of the city, and the place where Pope Francis worked for years. At the square itself, we will learn and walk like the Mothers of the Disappeared. Then we will stand in front of the Presidential Palace or Pink House/Casa Rosada, focusing on why the walls have that color and a particular balcony, used by Eva Perón/Evita....and Madonna.
San Telmo
The oldest part of the city, with cobblestoned streets, statues of local cartoon characters, and colonial times' spirit and architecture.
After passing by the narrowest house of the town, we will go inside a local indoor market, a good chance to learn about Argentinian cuisine and food traditions.
Caminito, La Boca
The South of the city, the old port, and the colorful houses, ... La Boca is all that and much more, the cradle of tango and one of the places where football passion can be felt everywhere. Caminito, the little road, is an open-air art museum, a good opportunity to meet the local artists, watch tango dancers and, why not, buy some souvenirs. We can do a lunch stop, in one of the nearby local restaurants.
Recoleta
On our way, we will pass through Puerto Madero, in the East, the modern part of town, combining gentrified former warehouses with the tallest buildings of the country.
Recoleta, on the North Side, is the place of the manors and elegant palaces, the part of the city that looks European. Later, a must-see, a visit to one of the unique cemeteries of the world, with plenty of mausoleums and angels' and virgins' statues.
Palermo
Last, but not least, we will move a bit more northwards, to Palermo, the green area of the city. Here we can choose from visiting a beautiful park, full of geese, roses, and a lake or indulge ourselves by gazing at the marvelous street art on the walls of this also trendy district.
