The Tour starts with a beautiful Kodak picture view: State Opera House/ or the Metropolitan of Art why is it sitting exactly there? - Hotel Sacher (with its famous chocolate cake but has Sacher always been a hotel? What was sitting there previously in front of the Opera House? Helmut Zilk Platz with the Monument against War and Fascism as well as Palace Lobkwitz (the same Palace as in Prague? why is it so?) and mainly: what is the function of the street inbetween Opera House and Sacher Hotel.
The Albertina Museum is sitting on the south-east most tip of Hofburg. As part of Hofburg it has always been the Palace of the princess and princes especially the Governor of the Netherlands (but what is the Netherlands?). Today Albertina houses the largest graphic collection and printings of the world.
Flour Market
The previously "Flour Market" (the square for the "staff of life") - has become the most important square of the inner city ever since the expansion of the inner city by the English tax payer. Why? Explore the peaceful and perhaps most beautiful square in Vienna with the most famous fountain of the city. Listen to the story about the Babenberger & the Hapsburg's life between death and birth, see the hidden secret of this almost genious square and understand why it is so famous to women.
Mozart's area
Was Mozart Austrian? No! 99,9% of Austrian would deny. Come and listen to the story without having heart attack. We will be wondering through the lanes and squares which has still kept the previous shape with the same facade that has been well maintained. Walking through these narrow alleys next to listening to Mozart's story, you will also listen to some other interesting stories such as where does the "ball" come from or why was there a square called "the little Tuscany of Vienna"? Does "Moses" really has horns? Why is he decorated with horns?
St. Stephan's Cathedral outside
Finally reaching the St. Stephan's Cathedral after wandering through Mozart's hood. It's all about symbolism! You will see all the symbolism with me from the outside and receive the necessary information for the inside, so that you can explore the interior of the cathedral on your own.
