- Let's meet on the ground floor at the G entrance of Gulou(The Drum Tower) Metro Station Gate G.

10:30 AM

The drum and bell tower and experience Tai Chi

Step back in time at Beijing's majestic Drum and Bell Towers, the ancient "heartbeat" of the capital! Standing outside these awe-inspiring landmarks, you'll admire their stunning traditional architecture and soak in the poetic legacy of the "Morning Bell and Evening Drum." Framed by the charming hutongs, this exterior visit offers a perfect glimpse into the soul of old Beijing and a fantastic photo opportunity!

Here, you can also witness local seniors bringing the square to life with morning exercises like Tai Chi and shuttlecock kicking. Better yet, you are warmly invited to join in and exercise together with the friendly locals!

11:00 AM

Making traditional Beijing food and experience traditional Chinese Culture

Step into a traditional Siheyuan (courtyard) to listen to its fascinating history and stories. You will then chat and make dumplings with local residents. As China's quintessential festive food, dumplings symbolize family reunion during the Spring Festival, much like the traditional dishes served during Western holidays.

Next, try your hand at writing the 'Fu' (福) character — a symbol of blessing and good fortune. A calligraphy master will guide you step by step, showing you how to hold the traditional Chinese brush and dip it in ink just right. The brush, an ancient writing tool unique to China, requires a delicate balance of pressure: too heavy and the stroke becomes rigid, too light and it loses its spirit. Finding that perfect middle ground is itself a lesson in the Chinese philosophy of harmony and moderation — a timeless wisdom woven into every stroke.

02:00 PM

Shichahai Area

Discover the timeless charm of Shichahai, Beijing’s historic "Northern Water Town" and the ancient northern terminus of the Grand Canal. Wander through scenic lakeside alleys and traditional hutongs, where weeping willows frame majestic courtyards and iconic landmarks like the Drum and Bell Towers. This vibrant area is also a culinary paradise! Treat your taste buds to authentic local flavors, from sizzling Mongolian lamb roasted on an iron griddle and crispy sesame flatbreads to classic Beijing snacks like sweet bean paste cakes. Immerse yourself in the rich history and lively atmosphere of old Beijing!

We will visit the famous alleys such as Yaer Alley and Tobacco Pipe Diagonal Street. There are many well-preserved courtyards in Shichahai area.

This is full of Beijing flavor.
