Mutianyu Great Wall
Mutianyu Great Wall is one of the most famous and well-preserved sections of the Great Wall of ChinaDating back to the Northern Qi Dynasty (550 - 577 AD), the initial construction of this section was later expanded and reinforced during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644 AD). It served as a crucial military defense in ancient China, guarding the capital from potential invasions from the north. The strategic location of Mutianyu, nestled in a valley surrounded by steep mountains, made it an ideal place for building a strong and secure fortress.
For those who prefer a more convenient way to enjoy the view, there are cable cars available. The cable car ride offers a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys, allowing visitors to admire the grandeur of the Great Wall from above. Once at the top, visitors can explore the various watchtowers and take in the stunning scenery.
