The Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum, was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China and is a masterpiece of ancient Chinese architecture.he construction started in 1406 during the reign of Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty and was completed in 1420. It was the political and cultural center of China for nearly 500 years, a symbol of imperial power and a witness to the rise and fall of dynasties.
