“An absolute GEM... on so many levels”

Choosing Waleed to organise my short trip to the Grand Egyptian Museum was one of the best travel decisions I have ever made. From my very first enquiry, Waleed understood exactly what I was hoping to get from the visit and responded promptly, thoughtfully and professionally throughout. Every aspect of the logistics was handled with the minimum of fuss, and Mahmoud, my lovely driver, was unfailingly punctual, courteous and reliable. The real stroke of genius, however, was pairing me with Mohamed Omran as my Egyptologist and guide. We spent two unforgettable mornings together in the GEM, and I could not have wished for a better companion. Omran combines immense knowledge of ancient Egyptian history with a rare ability to bring it to life through conversation rather than lectures. He answered every question with generosity and enthusiasm, challenged me to think more deeply, and somehow made one of the world's greatest museums feel human and personal as well as monumental. Beyond his wide expertise, he is simply fascinating and entertaining company and a genuinely warm, thoughtful person. I arrived in Egypt expecting to be impressed by the Grand Egyptian Museum. I left with my expectations exceeded in every respect, having made a new friend, and already planning my return to explore more of Egypt with Omran, Mahmoud and Waleed. The museum is a GEM. Waleed and his team are human gems as well.

“It was an excellent tour”

I joined this tour in July. It was extremely hot, but thanks to our guide, I was able to enjoy the visit comfortably. I don’t usually hire guides when I travel. However, if you’re planning to visit the pyramids and are unsure whether to book a guide, I would definitely recommend it. Having a knowledgeable guide made the experience much more enjoyable and stress-free. At one point, I started feeling unwell because of the heat. The guide immediately took me to a nearby restroom and café, made sure I had time to rest, and took great care of me until I felt better. I really appreciated the kindness and professionalism throughout the tour. Highly recommended!

“Perfect Day”

This was our first day we got to spend with Hamdy. He was great showing us around and able to answer all our questions we had. Especially in the Great Egyptian Museum, it was really helpful to have a guide, giving us an overview over the huge amount of exhibits. He managed the tour really well, helping us with tickets and driving really safe. We never felt uncomfortable. In addition to that, his German was excellent, what was quite helpful understanding everything 100%, especially when he gave us historical information, requiring words, you do not use on daily basis.
