Day 1: Addis Ababa to Goba – Bale Mountains National Park (Fly and Drive)
Experience the stunning beauty of Bale Mountains National Park with this well-planned 4-day itinerary, combining scenic drives, guided trekking.
Morning:
6:30 AM: Meet at Bole International Airport or your hotel in Addis Ababa.
7:55 AM: Fly from Addis Ababa to Goba (approximately 1 hour).
8:55 AM: Arrive at Goba Airport. Begin a scenic drive to Dinsho, the gateway to Bale Mountains National Park (approximately 2.5–3 hours).
Midday:
12:00 PM: Arrive at Dinsho and check in at the park headquarters for registration.
Enjoy a delicious lunch in Dinsho.
Take a guided nature walk in the surrounding area to spot wildlife such as the mountain nyala, Menelik’s bushbuck, and warthogs. Visit nearby waterfalls and explore the lush juniper woodlands.
Evening:
6:30 PM: Dinner and relax at the campsite in Dinsho.
Overnight: Dinsho camping.
Day 2: Trekking to the Sanetti Plateau trekking
• Morning: 7: 00AM Start the day with breakfast and prepare for a moderate trek to the Sanetti Plateau which you take 5-6 hours.
• Pass through rolling high-altitude grasslands and enjoy the dramatic views of the park’s valleys and peaks.
• Explore the Sanetti Plateau, the highest plateau in Africa, at elevations of over 4,000 meters.
• Spot unique wildlife such as the Ethiopian wolf, giant mole rat, and endemic bird species like the blue-winged goose.
• Afternoon: 1:00 PM Picnic lunch on the plateau.
• Continue trekking around the plateau, visiting alpine lakes and enjoying the serene environment.
• Evening: 6:00 PM
• Set up camp at the edge of the plateau

Day 3 treek to Sanetti Plateau to Harenna Forest
Morning: 7:00 AM
• Begin the day early with a hearty breakfast.
• Embark on a longer trek (3–4 hours) descending from the high-altitude Sanetti Plateau into the breathtaking Harenna Forest.
• Experience the dramatic transition from the plateau's rugged terrain to the lush greenery of one of Ethiopia’s largest and most biodiverse forests.
• Pause along the way to admire the stunning landscapes and unique flora, with opportunities to spot wildlife such as Ethiopian wolves, mountain nyalas, and endemic birds.
Mid-Morning: 10:30 AM
• Continue on foot into the heart of the forest for an immersive guided walk.
• Explore the forest’s rich ecosystem, home to black-and-white colobus monkeys, leopards, and vibrant bird species.
• Visit a local village, spending time with the community to learn about their traditional farming practices and the art of Ethiopian coffee preparation.
Afternoon: 1:00 PM
• Enjoy a leisurely lunch in a picturesque spot within the forest, surrounded by nature.
• Embark on an extended trek (2–3 hours) to uncover hidden gems such as a secluded waterfall or panoramic viewpoints offering sweeping views of the forest canopy.
• Pause to rest and appreciate the tranquility of the surroundings.
Evening: 5:30 PM
• Settle into the forest for the night, camping under the trees.
• Gather around a cozy campfire for dinner, sharing stories and reflecting on the day’s discoveries.
• Drift off to sleep surrounded by the soothing sounds of the forest.
Day 4: Journey from Harenna Forest to Goba Fly To Addis Ababa.
• 6:30 AM: Enjoy breakfast amidst the tranquil surroundings of the Harenna Forest which took 7 hours
• Morning Activity: Take a peaceful walk through the forest to absorb its serene beauty.
• 8:30 AM: Depart from Harenna Forest and begin the scenic drive back to Addis Ababa.
• 10:30 AM: Mid-morning stop for a break.
• Lunch Stop: Pause for lunch at Shashamene or a roadside restaurant along the route.
• 12:30 PM: Optional picnic lunch while enjoying the picturesque rural landscapes.
• Afternoon Drive: Continue the journey, passing through charming small towns and rolling countryside.
• Goba Airport Transfer: Drive to Goba Airport for a connecting flight to Addis Ababa.
Drop-Off: Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, transfer to your hotel or proceed to Bole International Airport for your departure
