Kriegshaber, Synagoge und jüdische Häuser

Kriegshaber gehörte bis ins 19. Jh. nicht zur Stadt Augsburg. Während Juden in Augsburg nicht leben durften, ließen sie sich außerhalb in Landgemeinden nieder. Diese Synagoge ist ein Beispiel für eine Haussynagoge auf dem Lande. In der Nähe des Ortes Kreigshaber hatten etablierte jüdische Familien Häuser und Geschäfte.

Jüdisches Museum in Augsburg-Schwaben

Das Jüdische Museum Augsburg-Schwaben stellt die Geschichte der in Augsburg lebenden Juden dar. Es ist Teil des Synagogenkomplexes, der in den Jahren 1914 bis 1916 erbaut wurde. Die Synagoge wurde in der Reichskristallnacht (9.11.1938) nicht zerstört. Sie hat ein großes Kuppeldach und zeigt, wie reich, wichtig und selbstbewusst diese Gemeinde war.
